Re: 07 Seattle Mariners
They've both been awful. And both of them are lucky they haven't given up more runs than they have.Comment

Orlando Cabrera officially owns King Felix. Who'd have thunk it.Comment

Why would Hernandez throw a fastball to Vladdy there?Comment

Re: 07 Seattle Mariners
He's got great ability, but he still needs to learn how to be a pitcher. It doesn't help that Joh doesn't call the best game in the world. Its a shame Dan Wilson had to retire before he had a chance to groom Felix a bit.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: 07 Seattle Mariners
Yeah he had Vlad down on 2 strikes and had him reaching all over the place with the deuce. Then comes back with the gas up? That was a gimme.Comment

Vlad is too good. Even pitches out of the strike zone aren't safe from him.Comment

I wonder if he'll make it out of the first inning of his simulated gamesMember of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Did any of you watch the Edgar induction ceremony? Pretty cool. Classic moment when they announced Bill Bavasi and he got booed by pretty much everyone.
Anyway, I'm heading to the game tomorrow to see Felix vs. Bedard. Should be a pretty good pitching matchup. I'll have to check out the Edgar plague.Comment

Re: 07 Seattle Mariners
It was a gorgeous day at Safeco today with a good crowd (35000+). The rookie pitcher (I still can't spell his name) looked good except for a couple of mistakes that led to homers by Texas. But the kid never lost his composure. I don't see any reason at all to send Weaver back out on the mound right now when they've got some good young pitchers who are outperforming him (not a high bar to clear, admittedly).
And in previous years when the M's fell behind 4-1 I'd start mentally chalking it up as a loss. Not this year. I still felt pretty good even when they fell behind early and they didn't disappoint. They're just lighting up opposing pitchers right now, even with Beltre, Vidro, and Johjima sitting out today. It seems like they're always getting hits with men in scoring position, which they haven't done consistently in about four years. The M's offense is good enough to win games now, if they can only get some consistent starting pitching.Comment
