Well, all and all, we're still the Chicago Cubs. We've got a tremendous home record, an amazing offense, guys that have the attitude and mindset straight, but we're STILL the Chicago Cubs. I've been trying to tell everyone that, it seems like a lot of the fans aren't worried about what is in the way, when we've got good enough competition to receive a first round exit. This isn't division play, we aren't rolling all over the Reds, Pirates and Astros anymore, we're in the Playoffs! And we're the CUBS!

I love this team as much as the next poster, but the more and more we look ahead and overlook the first round, the more trouble we'll find ourselves in. Sure, we have a great rotation, but it still offers reason to worry for me - Zambrano gave up a grand slam last time out, Rich Harden only struck out four hitters after averaging like 10 per start.

I don't know, guys, I just don't know. I get tired of saying "Next Year", but I guess if I truly believed than this year would be the year... or, well, if I did truly believe, "Next Year" would have came by now. But it hasn't. We aren't the Loveable Losers for nothing.

Sure, we can win it, but all I ask is that fans not get overexcited. We've got games to play.

I didn't even read your posts, to be honest, I was just speaking in a general note, because it seems that a few Cubs fans across the Internet are quick to give us the 2008 World Series, and a few fans from other teams have done the same.

I guess we're just getting too much hype for me to be comfortable with.

Thank you for posting that video, although it does conjure up some memory's of '03 and '84. That video really convey's what it is like to spend your childhood growing up in Wrigley Field and the loyalty and kinship that makes Wrigley and the Cubs so awesome.


I would'nt trade all my heartache, if it meant having to be a fan of another team. That image of the two guys sitting on the curb, and the guy has his hand around his buddy, who is covering his eyes from crying..damn near brought tears to my eyes..............as I truly understand his pain
