Oh and what was up with Jr dropping the ball to allow 2 runs to score, and then he almost dropped the next one???
Nice to finally see Patterson hit, 4-5.
And one last thing Keppy is the man and should be batting 3rd!
i was thinking he must have grabbed his kids glove or something. each time it bounced off the bottom of the glove instead of the web like his glove was too small.

to me that means he just didn't look the ball into the glove, you know, something that you're taught to do in tee ball. I know Griffey wants to play the field and I admire him for it, but he's got to step up his D otherwise he might be DHing it in Seattle in August and September.

Move him already and call up Jay Bruce
They won't do it until after 600. Although, attendance sure isn't up. He could hit the next 3 in one game but nobody seems to care. Everyone will wait until he's sitting on 599 and then go to the games.

I am not for sure they will even go then.

Your exact quote was "lets follow the Marlins blueprint and play our young guys and win a couple championship".
All I said is that is not the Marlins blueprint to winning championships. There blueprint to winning champs is signing alot of veterns and having a huge payroll, see Delgado, Sheffield, Floyd, Pudge, Renteria, ect, etc.

              In 1997
              Floyd- $390,000
Renteria- doesn't say but must be inbetween $109,500 and $255,000
look near bottom of page for salary info...

but Sheff, Delgado(not on a marlins championship team), and Pudge were all paid big money

              link to reneteria contract- $150,000

I understand. My point about the Marlins has nothing to do with the Championships they won. I know how they won them. I like the way they are using their young players now. I want to see the Reds do the same and win some Championships. It might take a few seasons, but it will be much better watching that than the mess we have for a team now. Bloated, slow, high priced players.

And I agree,Keppy should be 2 or 3 in the order without a doubt.

Yeah, losing Keppinger is a huge blow. Be interesting to see how the team recovers/responds. What are the odds that a team would have two shortstops on its roster both with broken kneecaps? I find that incredible. They have no luck.

So is Janish the everyday SS now, or will Hairston get the majority of the starts?
Another solid outing by Volquez last night 6-1 now with a 1.20 ERA, simply amazing!
My best friend who has a huge man crush on Josh Hamilton finally admitted last night that he would now trade Hamilton for Volquez. He has been saying since day one that it was the worst trade in Reds histroy!! Lol
It looks like Patterson is finally going to start hitting, he is 6 for his last 7.
Also how many HRS do you guys think Votto will hit this year?
                        I am going with 35 and 85 RBI's.

Edison Volquez has been a great pickup for the Reds.

So yeah. Not sure if many of you know this or not, but the HOTTEST hitter the Reds have is not on the MLB team. There is this player in AAA, maybe you have heard of him before, but last year he was the Minor League Player of the Year. His name is Jay Bruce.

Well over the past 5 games, he is hitting .667 with three home runs and nine RBI. But in his last 10 games he is only hitting a paltry .611.

Anyway I was thinking about how wonderful it would be to trade an aging outfielder and call up the future of the Reds. I would imagine a .366 avg with 8 hr's and 33 rbi's in 39 games would be enough to call him up and start his career. Of course they can't start his career in Cincy until the end Jr's.

                              Nice to dream though.
