    Vladimir Guerrero, OF
    Manny Ramirez, OF
    John Lackey, SP
    Brad Penny, SP
    C.C. Sabathia, SP
    Ben Sheets, SP
    Francisco Rodriguez, RP

Burrell may command a big contract, but I think he may be within signing range for the Reds. His numbers compare favorably (re: better) to those of Bay's so I'd say at this point I'd prefer Burrell. Burrell also walks a ton more than Bay and that could be a boon to Cincy.
    A few things.

    - I don't believe Crawford will be a free agent. Even he has an option, I'm sure it's cheap and affordable. (http://www.rotoworld.com/Content/pla...rt=mlb&id=3410)
    - Guerrero has a $15M club option ($3M buyout = $12M decision). It's hard to imagine a scenario where this doesn't get optioned.
    - Ramirez has a $20M club option.
    - Lackey has a $9M club option. $9M for a pitcher is nothing. He will not be a free agent.
    - Penny has a club option.

Once you factor all that in, the list gets much shorter.

According to ESPN Junior has told the Reds he would be willing to be traded to the Rays. Junoir does not have a no trade list, he can not be traded to any team without his permission. You are thinking of Dunn who has a list of 10 teams he would be willing to accept a trade to written in his contract.

I saw an interesting piece on FSN last night that said the Reds are about to blow up the current team. The piece said they are going to try to move Dunn, Griff, Arroyo, and Edwin before the end of the year. I really dont think this is big news, I believe they have been trying to move these 4 for a while now.

try to move E5..er...I mean EE? lol, what kind of value does he have? I'd imagine the Reds would be better off keeping him.

I just want the Reds to keep Harang. We should sign him until he's 38.

The Rays already did exercise his 2009 contract, scroll down to Apr. 1 on this page... http://www.rotoworld.com/Content/pla...rt=mlb&id=3410
So that definitely takes him off the market.

Get rid of him already and make sure he takes Weathers with him. I still do not get why Dusty keeps using this bum, between Weathers and Lincoln who sucks more. Saturday Dusty using Lincoln in the top of the 10th WTF does he know that Burton is his best option out of the pen? I have said it all year and will keep on saying it FIRE DUSTY NOW!!!

I said it earlier. I wish this team would just do a complete overhaul. Keep Harang and the rookies (although at the time I said to keep EE also but have since decided against it), some of the young guys (Keppinger) and move on. This team has some good talent but they lack the mentality of a winner and I think until half this team is gone, it will remain that way.

                I am all for it!

Burton had pitched alot the games leading up to Saturday, that he why he didnt use him.
I agree with you Lincoln needs to be released right now, but again it is not Dusty's fault he is on the team. Dusty does not decide who is on the team, he just has to play the guys he is givin.

                      Re: 2008 Cincinnati Reds

swept by the Dodgers, offense not doing anything. I think it's time for that firesale that has been mentioned. Here's the players I'd move:

Adam Dunn: I think the writing was on the wall way back when Kearns was traded. I like his OBP and his power but hate his defense and his strikeouts.

Bronson Arroyo: I'm thankful we got anything in return for Wily Mo but let's face it, Bronson has never enjoyed playing in Cincinnati. He's a decent SP that could net a good prospect from a contending team.

David Weathers: Any prospect we get in return is OK with me.

Francisco Cordero: I'm sure there's a contender out there that would love to have him and with him locked into a four-year contract, the return the Reds could get would be good.

The Reds would likely have to release Valentin, Fogg, Patterson, Hairston and Cabrera.

Notice I didn't say trade EE or Griffey. Let's be honest, at this point the return the Reds could get for Griffey is minimal. Might as well keep him and let him go when the time is right instead of forcing him out. EE, I like the improvements he's making. His K/BB is improving a lot and he's flashing more power. His defense, well, sometimes he makes a spectacular play and sometimes he misses basic ones, but overall I think he's a better player than he was two years ago.

What an excellent game to watch this evening. I enjoyed that thoroughly. Yankees suck! ...as they win the next two games and win the series.

I hope Cabrera isn't out long with that dislocated index finger. He was having a helluva game. Keppinger is supposedly still sore and not read to come back. Playing SS for the Reds is apparently a death-wish.

I watched most of the game last night, but didn't even know Cabrera got hurt, he's now on the DL...maybe we should try Corey Patterson at SS ...that might take care of our problems

If it was announced right this second that Patterson was released by the team, it wouldn't be soon enough. I can't even stand it that he is still on the team and playing. It is almost like a little league team where the coach has a son that can't tie his shoes, let alone play baseball. Yet he plays every single game even over kids MUCH more talented than him.

Please please please can we get rid of Patterson. I believe he is the worst player to get as much playing time as he gets, that I have ever seen. Simply ridiculous and unexcusable.

                            P.S. in case I wasn't clear....Patterson SUCKS!!!!

EDIT: duke776, I fully realize you were being sarcastic about Patterson playing SS so don't take my anger as directed toward you at all. I am sitting here watching the game (Thompson could be great!!!) and every time Patterson comes to the plate I want to puke. Just irks me.

As I was reading this, Jeff Brantley just called Corey Patterson's 2-run HR down the right-field line. 4-0 Reds in the 7th. He still needs to go!

I agree, I don't get why Hopper isn't starting over him, it's crazy. Also, that was a nice win today, and a really good performance by Thompson in his debut.
