Two years ago, that would have been grounds to justify trading him for some people. Bad teammate, doesn't take the game seriously etc etc etc.

Now that we aren't miserable it's all in good fun lol My my how times have changed.

It's what happens when he produces like he should....lol.

I still can't believe we have Addison Russell. Theo pulled off the heist of a lifetime.

I couldn't care less that Billy Beane is good at what he does and a movie was made about him; that kind of trade should get one fired. If I was an Athletics fan, I'd be ****ing furious. For a 2 month rental of Samardzija?!?!?

      Good Lord....

        Speaking of him producing.

Starlin Castro made his debut 5 years ago today. He leads all of baseball in hits since then.

By the way, Kris Bryant homers today....not once.....but TWICE.

I like that Maddon put him in the 2 hole ahead of Riz. Hopefully he sees some juicy pitches today.

To be fair he openly admitted he was getting fleeced. He was going for it all last year.

I didn't like any trade he made at the deadline last year but I'll give him credit for openly admitting he knew he was giving up the future for the present.

I mean in reality it's already pretty bad seeing the Athletics didn't even retain him. Not to outdo the trade they made for Ramirez and Lofton back in 03 for some peanuts and a bag of balls to the Pirates.

I hear you, but that doesn't mean that trade should still go down. You do not under ANY circumstances trade a cornerstone player and Top 10 overall prospect for a guy who was supposed to be a 1 year rental, and actually turned out to be less.

Publicly admitting his total foul up doesn't exonerate his actions.

For A's fans to stay with the team and back him up on this, I give you guys credit.

I'm not sure where I backed him up?

I just appreciated his candor in saying why he did what he did and being honest about it. As I said earlier I didn't agree with the trade at the time and without that World Series win it's obviously a total loss other that some of the players they got from the White Sox.

                        Poor choice of words.

Not backing him up I guess, but at least staying by your team afterwards.

Feels like a getaway day kind of offense today.

Keep it close, give yourself a shot late - that's about all I'm hoping for in this one. Lackey seems to have our number.

3 out of 4 losses in a series where the team has played well is going to be a tough pill to swallow.

Edit: Well, they're definitely not playing well today. Yikes, the errors costing them multiple runs.

Seriously, Cubs could have gone 20-25 with RISP and still lost 3 to those witches.
