the injuries to Grimm and Ramirez are huge because if those guys are healthy you could probably pitch Motte and Rosscup and etc more in Middle relief. Edwin is Long relief but he was pitching well so they pitched him in a high leverage situation i don't have a problem with that.

Jackson has looked really good before today. And even today he wasn't bad. He didn't get an out, but only faced 3 batters. A walk, but the two singles weren't necessarily hit hard.
My only real issue is Schlitter pitching in important situations. He's just not a MLB-quality pitcher.Comment

Looks like he is starting to settle down, but he's still gotta be more consistent.
Looks like Addison is struggling quite a bit but man can he make some defensive plays.Jacksonville Jaguars

Be that as it may they sure have been fun to watch (and frustrating) but you can see the potential is there.Jacksonville Jaguars

It's getting to the point now where I should probably eat some crow on Starlin. He's been an absolute monster so far. It's not just his batting average, it's his overall approach to the game. He has that 'fire' to his game again.
Just awesome.Comment

Really nice to see Russell make a clutch play today. I think the kid really needed that for his confidence going forward. Anybody else ecstatic about Bryant? yes he's not hitting homers yet but man the rest of his game is a thing of beauty. On the down side I really hope Soler works on his plate discipline.Jacksonville Jaguars

Spared from Maddon's tendency to use him I guess, but I'm not sure what good one less arm in the pen does for us.
Fortunately, Hammel's making it a non-issue tonight.

Re: The Friendly Confines: The Official Chicago Cubs Thread
I don't think it'll be a big deal. They have 12 pitchers, which is what most teams carry, I believe. German should get some more opportunities, as he's been pretty good. Maybe Edwin gets another chance as well, as I don't think he really threw poorly his last outing.Comment
