Aramis sure likes hitting in this park, doesn't he?

      That was a letdown after the 5 - 2 - 3 DP.

At least Strop doesn't look incredibly rattled after hitting Segura in the head.

I know it's about adjustments but you have to be concerned about Bryant a little. Soler as well but he's still making solid contact at times. you knew this would come it will be interesting to see how they adjust.

If there's anything good that came out of the last few days for the Cubs, it's that the Cards bullpen just had to go through extra innings for 3 days in a row. We get to the starters early and I think we'll be in good shape.

Need to bounce back big time after dropping 2 of 3 to Milwaukee.

Re: The Friendly Confines: The Official Chicago Cubs Thread

Soler will have his first game off tonight. Kinda sucks because it appeared like he was finally getting it together this last series.

All in all I'm satisfied so far. There are going to be nights where we don't hit. When you are young, inexperienced and aggressive, there are going to be some ugly games. Gotta understand that part of it.

Hope the bats start heating up with the weather.

This is the best possible start we could have asked for. Love the approach against Martinez, right from the first two walks and snowballing from there.

Edit: The bottom half....not so much. Still going to get deep into the pen regardless of how insane this game gets.

Disappointing the way this game ended. Jeeze Bryant's plate discipline is very impressive. 16 games, 11 RBI's, 16 walks... the homers will come.

I'm actually going to look at the silver lining in this game; Bryant and Russell looked phenomenal at the plate. Rizzo hit one 410 feet on a change-up. Montero is looking like an All-Star. Grimm should be back soon. James Russell might be called up.

                        It's a process. Let's Go.

I'm not really upset at anyone other than Wood, because I think he might have eased up when he got spotted the 5 run lead before taking the mound. That really set the tone for "anything can happen".

The Cubs couldn't have had a 10 run lead I would have called safe in this one - it was just that kind of a game. Neither team's bullpen was sharp, so it's kind of hard to rag on just ours.

It's still an extremely disappointing team loss. One of those that you look back on at the end of the year as one you should have won.

Cards actually scored 2 runs in this inning, not that it had anything to do with this play.

I love it.. reminds me of the hijinx that Andrus pulls on Beltre. The guys are having fun and playing well.

As long as it doesn't screw up Rizzo (who looked really confused)
