Bray sent to the DL and JJ Hoover called up. His numbers so far at AAA are pretty strong: 2.00 ERA 17/6 K/BB in 9 IP.
    MLB: Cincinnati Reds
    NFL: Cincinnati Bengals
    NCAA Hoops: Xavier Musketeers

Anybody else feel like Willie Harris has no business on the Reds roster? Bring up Janish to play 2nd or better yet Chris Valieka. Valaika showed promise and poise a few years back. Janish is stellar with the glove and can get bunts down.
      NFL:Packers
      MLB:Reds/Tigers
      NHL:Red Wings
      NCAA:Michigan Wolverines.
      F-1: Ferrari.

It's been a while OS. Hope all are doing well!

        Raises hand!

I would prefer Janish or Valaika over Harris. Harris can't hit worth a damn (I know the Reds have struggled offensively, but I have no faith in Harris improving) and worse has issues bunting. Defensively he is nothing special. I know he is a veteran guy but the Reds have younger guys who can help out this team more then Willie Harris.

Edit: Especially with BP having his early hamstring troubles we need a solid 2B to fill that gap when he has those days off. I don't think Harris is that guy.

I agree. Add poor base running to the Harris resume. Despite that, big win tonight.

I think he's just on the team because he can play a bunch of positions. That has value but not if you make mistakes on the basepaths or on defense. I think Janish has been hitting the ball well at Louisville this year so far. I just wish he could hit better at the major league level. He's doesn't have to be an all-star. If Janish could just hit .260 again like he did in 2010 I'd be okay with that.

                Reds game yesterday was great.
I was 4 rows back in section 106, about 15 feet from the foul pole. When Buster Posey hit that shot, I was like NO..........................
Besides the 6th inning Latos pitched very well, and it was pretty funny listen to a couple of the fans saying stuff to Melky.

Damn it Reds! One swing of the bat and a 2-run lead is a 1-run loss.

Chapman has been absolutely lights out this year. I think he would do well as a closer.

He did what Phillips did two nights ago. Got a lucky second chance, and boom took advantage of it.

Of course, Pagan shouldn't had even had a chance to hit that 3HR. Thanks Blue!

Should also be noted that after last night's start, Bronson Arroyo achieved 10 and 5 status.

One thing that is going unnoticed is that when Hanigan is behind the plate the pitchers have much better games. He may not be the bat of Mesoraco but he calls a much better game.

That's a great observation. It actually crossed my mind as well but only because it was something that struck me during Latos' first start with the Reds against the Marlins. I was a tad worried about it that game but didn't really think about it again until your post. Doing more research right now, in Latos' three losses, Mesoraco was behind the plate each time. In Latos' win against the Giants, Hanigan started. With the exception of two extra-inning losses and another loss at home versus the Cards, Mesoraco was the starter behind the plate in all other losses. I love the kid's potential with the bat and think he will be a great game-caller too, but he isn't there just yet.

EDIT: HA! Just happened to check out John Fay's blog and he is talking about this already. http://cincinnati.com/blogs/reds/201...mesoraco-more/
