When Votto came up with the bases loaded...I knew something special was about to happen. Glad I didn't turn the game off.Comment

Back to Phillips's play, the only reason it didn't go higher is because people expect this kind of play from him. IMOMLB: Cincinnati Reds

A blurb from Rotoworld regarding Chapman.
Reds manager Dusty Baker said Wednesday that the plan is for Aroldis Chapman to start "someday."
The inference being that it won't be happening anytime soon. Chapman has posted a dominant 0.00 ERA and 32/5 K/BB ratio in 18 1/3 innings of relief this season and deserves a long-form look. But Baker is as stubborn as they get and seems to think he has the Cuban left-hander pegged correctly as a setup man.MLB: Cincinnati Reds

Leake looked great last night. He kept the ball down, he had his slider working, and he was able to score a run. All in all, a good bounce-back night for him and hopefully a precursor for things to come. Loved Leake's quote in postgame, "I was working on attacking them and throwing the ball with some attitude, instead of like a sissy."
Frazier busted out of his little slump last night with two homers. Hopefully this will trigger some more consistent play.
Raise your hand if you were shocked that the Toothpick pulled Ludwick for Bruce there in the 8th? And it worked out with Bruce getting the sac fly (would've been a homer at GABP IMO).
Arredondo, Chapman, and Marshall shut down the Mets in the late innings. Arredondo's splitter his sick and he's throwing more strikes this year. Chapman is just unfair. And when Marshall's curve is snapping like that, it's hard to make solid contact. Add in Ondrusek and Hoover into the conversation, and it's hard to find a better bullpen in baseball. Nasty Boys Redux???
Saw an interesting tweet last night from Joel Luckhaupt, who co-wrote the book The Wire-to-Wire Reds...
The #Reds have not scored after a one-out sac bunt attempt this season. Scored in 7 of 37 in '11.Comment

That's great, and I do appreciate the stat, but I want to see the guy in the rotation. You don't give a kid that much money to be a setup guy. That's not why they signed him. I'm curious to see what his WAR might be as a starter.MLB: Cincinnati Reds

I had no idea the Yankees used a time machine and brought in the Andy Pettitte from the mid-90's. Oh wait...that's just the Reds offense sucking again. You can tell the Reds are an NL team when Miguel Cairo is the DH. Why not let Mesoraco DH tonight?
Chapman getting sued for $18 million. This is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. Think this guy and his family aren't after money?
