#1 before anything in my opinion is resigning Phillips, even if this isn't his contract year.
I read they are going after Jurjens, so maybe him?

I hope the Jurjens rumor is true. If he's healthy he would be a great add in the rotation.

Agreed. I didn't know he was 30, thought he was about 27-28, but he is the best defensive player in baseball imo, and a good hitter. If they let him go for anything it would be terrible.

I personally hate that trade. Whatever. Grandal is a great young talent, and Alonso was the best prospect in their org.
Hopefully Latos has an amazing year, but I don't know.

I have mixed feelings about the trade. The Reds need an ace and a true #1 guy in the rotation but I hate to give up young talent. But if you want to sign an ace you gotta give up something. I hope it works out I can't wait to see Latos on the mound in a Reds uniform.

I'm happy with the trade. We got a top end starter, we know how important that can be. Yeah, we give up Alonzo and that hurts the most, but he wasn't going to be able to start for us, though I'm sure he'll blossom in San Diego. I'm not too worried about giving up Volquez and the catching prospect because Volquez I don't think will ever put it together and we've got a hot prospect ready to take over at catcher anyway. The hidden piece may be the AA closer we gave up, but all in all, I think it'll work out for both organizations. They get a few good pieces and we get a great pitcher who is just 24 years old. Here's hoping he can stay healthy!
