I really hope we draft a position player with our first two picks or so in the draft.

10 pitchers, 2 Shortstops, 1 Defensive Catcher, 1 Offensive Catcher, and Evan Gattis isn't that impressive. Matt Lipka and Ed Salcedo failing as prospects have not been good for this system.

Looks like Arizona is looking into the Upton thing with the Braves again.

I would be very excited to have J Upton here, but his home/away splits are very concerning.

Deal coming in the next 48 hours for Upton with the Braves or Kubel with the Baltimore per source to ESPN

I think has a very good shot at happening. Heyward just RT a rumor by AJCBraves. That has to be a good sign.

Excited and it would be great to have Upton, but who is going to leadoff? This team still does not have a lead off hitter....

In my eyes, this is a good problem to have.

Right, but this would all but rule out Bourn coming back. I fear they are planning on using Prado in the leadoff spot and I just don't think he does well there. The Uptons shouldn't lead off...Heyward maybe? Him batting first costs you some RBI situations for a big bat, but at least he could get on base and run.

I would guess that Prado probably starts off the season leading off(which is fine by me..), and then maybe they'd consider moving Simmons up later on if he can continue what he did at the plate last year. Prado has been fine in the lead off spot before, and he definitely gets on base enough to hold his own there.

Would be a pretty good looking lineup...

                    Prado
                    Heyward
                    J. Upton
                    Freeman
                    Bossman
                    McCann
                    Uggla
                    Simmons

Over the course of 139 games, Prado has a batting line of .298/.340/.469 batting lead off.

He doesn't look like your "prototypical" lead off hitter, but I'd take Prado in that spot over many of the guys around the league that get thrown into the lead off spot just because of their speed.

If the offer rumors are true, the Braves may be stealing him.

Julio Teheran and then Nick Ahmed and Evan Gattis. Teheran has struggled at AAA and Delgado has pitched better. He is 1 year younger than Delgado though.

Wow...that would be a steal. As high as everyone has been on Teheran, I haven't seen it. He has struggled every time he's been up and his struggles this year worry me. Maybe he turns into the next Pedro Martinez, but I think it's more likely he's the next David Nied.

Tonight on MLB Tonight they mentioned the DBacks want Simmons...really hope he doesn't get traded.

Why do you guys think the DBacks want to trade Upton so badly? Just weird that a guy as talented and trouble free as this guy has been is being run out of town.

An OF of Upton, Upton, and Heyward all under age 28 and under team control for a while is an exciting thought though...

They have always wanted Simmons, but the Braves have always said no. I don't see him being in the deal, plus they already traded for a young SS in Dec.

Upton hasn't been performing up to his contract and his age, he should be better. He was hurt though, so hopefully he rebounds. They want to trade him now while he still has value and his contract isn't crazy for an under performing player. If they wait and he has a bad year, he loses most of his value and his contract starts going up.

They are banking on him not getting back to his MVP level.

If the Braves get him, the ball shouldn't hit the ground much in the outfield.

I'm gonna be glued to Twitter today, I can tell. Latest news is that Delgado is in the package.

                                <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Source: Randall Delgado is part of package going from <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%23Braves">#Braves</a> to <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%23Diamondbacks">#Diamondbacks</a> for Justin Upton.</p>&mdash; Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) <a href="https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/294456587676942337">January 24, 2013</a></blockquote>

                                CBS guy says it's done:

                                <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>players are agreed to in Justin Upton trade. pending physical</p>&mdash; Jon Heyman (@JonHeymanCBS) <a href="https://twitter.com/JonHeymanCBS/status/294458515190325249">January 24, 2013</a></blockquote>

                                This is interesting...

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Told Delgado not biggest piece going from <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%23Braves">#Braves</a> to <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%23Diamondbacks">#Diamondbacks</a> for Upton.
