        Re: 2015 Cincinnati Reds

It's scary. A bunch of decently informed fans guessed something in February that took the Reds FO till May 11th to figure out....Kevin Gregg is hot garbage.

And that cost the Reds $1.5 million.

I guess better late than never, you wouldn't have thought it would have taken this long to get rid of that bum.

Unfortunately they didn't add anyone who will be a whole lot better probably, but atleast Gregg is gone. Villarreal surely wont do any worse than Gregg did.

                  Re: 2015 Cincinnati Reds

Raisel Iglesias had a great start tonight. This rotation has a lot of potential for upcoming years even without Cueto and possibly Leake.

                  2016:
                  Bailey
                  Desclafani
                  Lorenzen
                  Iglesias
Cingrani (I think they'll move him back next year)

                  Stephenson
Leake (maybe they can afford him)

Frazier now leads the NL with 12 HR. With a win tonight, the Reds should be .500 at 17-17. Think of how many games the bad bullpen blew that a normal bullpen wouldn't have (maybe 2-3) plus with a healthy Mesoraco you could a win or two. That would have put us at something like 21-13. I don't think this team is a playoff team, but they've got a chance to stay in it.

Reds also claimed Ryan Mattheus off waivers from LA Angels. He had two good years with the Nationals, but I don't think he'll help much.

                  2011/2012 stats:
                  2011 - 32 innings 2.81 ERA
                  2012 - 66.1 innings 2.85 ERA

Another interesting stat: assuming Reds win tonight (it's 9th right now as I'm writing it) this will be first time in MLB since 2005 that two Cuban players get wins on back to back games for same team.

I'm shocked that this far into the season and Zack Cozart has the highest OPS amongst shortstops.

                    Something has finally clicked.

Has anyone heard anything about Votto and his knee lately? Seems he has lost his power lately with zero extra base hits in May. Wonder if it is bothering him again?

I have no idea but I wouldn't be surprised because our medical staff is incompetent. There seems to be something wrong with him though because like you said his power is gone.

Yeah, it is quite shocking that Cozart has hit this well, and his number are this good this far into the season, really is deserving of a all star nod this yr, I hope he makes it in.

Cozart definitely looks like a totally different player this yr, I guess Walt lit a fire under him when they got Suarez and said Cozart's offense was going to have to improve for him to keep his job.

I actually thought Cozart when he 1st got called up would probably be a descent hitter, but wasn't sure the arm strength or range would be there, but knew he was sure handed. His D has been stellar from the time he got here, glad to see the bat finally come around, hopefully it stays, and he is also being more patient, as it was his OBP that always was the killer with him.

I think he is just slumping some right now, or I sure hope that's all it is. My wife did make the comment the other night that she thought he seemed to be favoring a leg, but I didn't see it. Id say its just a slump is all, or that's what Im praying it is. Bad enough BP has terf toe, we cant afford Votto to not be 100% too.
