    Re: 2015 Cincinnati Reds

The front office needs to be cleaned out. I said Dusty and Walt both needed to go. I've been disappointed in Price, but he hasn't been dealt a great hand by Walt. Still has compounded the issues by playing that poor hand rather poorly.

Hopefully it means, Jocketty, Towers and their group of turds are gone. What it likely means, Price and other scapegoats are gone.

The ASG might've really messed up the timing on any moves. I think the Reds are and have been paralyzed until after the ASG because they don't want to dampen the festivities with the fact that we're a bad team that needs changes somewhere.

I'm fine with Price going because it means the ship has sailed on the season and will hopefully open the floodgates for players to be moved. I don't think he's gotten a fair shake particularly, he's kind of collateral in this whole mess. That said, he hasn't done anything to save his job is what I'm getting at.

I wonder what Frazier would fetch now... but I'm pretty certain the Reds were never going to trade him. I think Bruce, Cueto, and Pena will be shipped. If we can off Cueto I'll be happy. That's the one trade that will net us some serious compensation back and we're pretty screwed if no one takes him so I'll take the big victory instead of small wins.

We'll see what happens. 2 weeks.

I think Price deserves to go, but it makes ZERO sense to do it in the middle of the season when they are going nowhere.

Yeah, Price don't deserve to have all the blame layed at his feet. He has had to deal with 2 injury plagued seasons now, along with not being dealt a great hand by Walt, and to top it off was a 1st time manager.

I do think Price needs to go and isn't the right guy for the job though, and imo there are a lot of people including Walt who need to go. Farm system needs to be overhauled in way of hitting instructors as well as some managers probably need gone, as I think our problems start donw on the farm and kids are learning right away like they should be.

When Walt didn't block the trade in 13 to stop the Pirates from getting Byrd, was when I felt Walt need to go. Even Dusty knew that was the right move to get Byrd, if nothing else to keep the Pirates from getting him, lol, Walt dropped the ball there, then says this yr he had always wanted Byrd and liked him, yet he had the perfect chance in 13 to get him when we needed him, lol.

Mr C is close friends with Walt from their time in St Louis, so I wont be surprised if Walt stays or goes, as I do think Mr C is unhappy and getting impatient and rightfully so, but part of our payroll issues is because Mr C is the one to give Votto that contract, which has looked very bad to date.

Price probably would have been gone a few weeks ago if it weren't for us having the AS game is my guess. Not sure firing a manager mid season will change anything, especially considering either Bell or Riggleman will end up as interm managers, but its possible it could light a fire under some guys to get it together, who knows at this point, were just not a very good team, but I would definitely say we have under performed to a extent, we should be this bad even with the injruies we have had.

See Todd win that Homerun Derby last night was awesome.

I'm really enjoying all this Cincinnati love during the ASG.

                Reds GM works from home.

It’s possible, maybe even likely, that between now and the end of the month Walt Jocketty will turn water into wine.

I think the article makes a great point, something that I immediately thought of while reading it and before the author says it, is the message it sends for Jocketty to not be in the office during this crucial time.

Wish he would retire or Castellini would grow some balls and get rid of him.

Yeah, I wish so as well, not sure Walt has the energy at this stage to do the job that needs done.

Walts not a scout, and its widely known that he is not a talent evaluator, so Id rather him not be scouting potential prospects anyway, so not that big a deal him watching are own prospects, other than Id rather him be closer to the team at this stage of the trade deadline, if I was the owner. Plus he might have been checking out some players from the opposing team anyway when he was down there. There are GM's that happen to also be good evalutators of talent, but that's not a strength of Walts to begin with. Wayne Kryvski was a GM that had a good eye for talent, as most of our main players are his to begin with.

And yet he made that trade to the Nationals, trading Kearns, Lopez, and Wagner for a bucket of baseballs.

Actually that trade turned into a wash for both clubs.
