Should have traded him when we had the chance. Could have gotten a kings ransom for him right after the home run derby.

Frazier will be fine, everyone goes through slumps, Frazier is no different, but for some reason when Frazier goes thru a slump everyone seems to think he is done. Frazier was the 34th pick back in 2007, so its not like he is just some flash in the pan Id hate to think how much worse this team would be if it wasn't for Frazier, not just this yr, but last yr too.

He will be fine, but for all the crap people give Bruce he's more consistent then Frazier and is younger.

Yeah, Bruce has got a lot of BS over the years, but not sure Id go as far as to say he is more consistent, or not over his entire career anyway. This season even early in the season when Bruce was struggling I felt his plate discipline was better, and it would be only a matter of time before he started to hit, I also thought Bruce was thinking to much about taking it the other way that it was effecting him too.

I think Frazier has just wore down, he has basically had to carry the load offensively all season, and on top of that had All Star stuff he had to do as the host of it, then played in the AS game, and won the HR derby. That's a lot to wear a guy down, and playing on a losing team don't help matters any either.

So do you guys think the Reds are purposely trying to ruin not only Lorenzen's confidence but his career as well?

I mean seriously, why the heck is he still pitching in the majors? I think he has a chance to be a good pitcher, but he has been so bad lately yet they keep running him out there. Maybe he is fatigued? Maybe injured? All I know is that if a guy continually gives up 5+ runs in less than 3 innings of work, as a rookie, there's a very good chance his confidence will take a massive hit.

            Consider this:

Since his last victory on June 21, Lorenzen is 0-6 with an 8.49 ERA -- and a 12.57 mark in five second-half starts. Overall, he is 3-8 with a 5.46 ERA in 19 games, including 17 starts, and he has failed to complete three innings in two of the last three.
I seriously hope they send him back down before either his arm falls off or his confidence isn't repairable.

I think it is fatigue and of course GM and manager have no clue

I'm a big fan of Iglesias. Think he has a really high ceiling. He mixes up his pitching motion like a veteran with all of the different arm angles. If he can stay a starter they might have gotten a steal with him.

Our "non-elite" 1B is slashing .304/.434/.526 with 20 HR and a 164 wRC+, which ranks 5th in all of baseball behind Bryce Harper (199), Nelson Cruz (179), Mike Trout (176) and Paul Goldschmidt (175).

But thanks to a guy like Marty Brennaman, people just don't appreciate Joey Votto. And yes, that non-elite comment came from the HOF broadcaster.

Michael Lorenzen to Louisville. John Lamb up to start tomorrow night's game.

I hope we tee off on Latos tonight.

Maturity wise I wouldn't worry about Lorenzen confidence, unlike some young pitchers.

I think Lorenzen probably has some fatigue this time of yr for a young pitcher, but he has had shaky starts thruout the season as well really although not to the point of the last couple starts.

Definitely aint ready to give up on Lorenzen as a starter, as the kid has easy gas and a repeatable delivery that is simple. I did hear a scout say that Lorenzen delivery and motion wouldn't fool too many big league hitters very early in the season, and I do wonder if there might not be something to it, meaning maybe he needs to hide the ball better. Then again a lot of Lorenzens issue this yr have been control related. There is a part of me that thinks in the end he might end up a reliever, he was a heck of a lcoser in college, but with that easy gas I do hope he makes it starting, as there isn't much stress on his arm with the way it flies out of his hand.

Lamb looked good for five of the six innings he pitched....and had we had a speedier LF, he probably would've gotten out of the fifth inning unscathed.

And more of Votto being Votto, driving in all of the Reds runs.

Hamilton to the DL with a sprained shoulder. Axelrod optioned to AAA.

LeCure and Boesch called up to the active roster.

Edit: I'm scared to death Marlon Byrd is already penciled in as the starting LF for 2016.

I don't want Byrd as our left fielder next year either, but I'm not scared to death of it. Outside of his first month or so, plus his injury time, I think he has done a decent job out there. Especially for a guy his age. "Age" is the operative word I guess, which is why I wouldn't want him out there next year. Table is about to be pulled out from his career and its going to happen sooner rather than later.

But overall he has been a massive upgrade over Ludwick who was older but way less productive.

I've seen it all now. Jason Bourgeois got thrown out at home plate on an infield fly rule.

That's so T-Ball......and that might be insulting to the t-baller.

Edit: If Sam LeCure can consistently locate his fastball at 88-89, I'd love him to be a part of this bullpen. That was something he couldn't do last season. It was something he couldn't do the first half of the season at Louisville.
