The money argument in baseball in my mind at this day and age is both tired and irrelevant. The Yankees, and Cashman will never get any credit for anything they do because of people's huge disillusion that money is everything in sports, yes it helps don't get me wrong but teams simply do not win or lose, great or ****ty simply because of their payroll capabilities, this is proven in all the major sports

Not saying any of that. Only pointing out that they had money to acquire Castro. Other teams didn't.

2-24 with RISP the last 3 games. That is awful.

It started off well and it's been a disaster since.

Yankees president Randy Levine thinks you’re an idiot

I'll be in 203 tonight. On paper, the A's have favorable numbers against Eovaldi.

I don't understand how Eovaldi just can't put anyone away. Guys just foul his fastball off until he makes a mistake, he can't finish at bats. It's frustrating because he'll be doing fine and then the bottom will fall out and he's useless

This is what analytics warned people about last year but fans wanted to call this guy the second coming.

He was very lucky last year before getting injured. I don't know what it is about him but for a guy with a 100 mph gun, he can't strike people out.

This offense is aging like a gallon of whole milk.

One of the things I've always noticed with Eovaldi is his fastball is really, really straight/flat. Yes, it's nearly 100 mph, but just not a lot of movement. Combine that with the fact he doesn't have great command of his secondary pitches and that's why he struggles at this level. That said, he has all the tools and could be like an Arrieta if he made some adjustments, garnered more control of his offspeed stuff, etc.

PS - ...and by Arrieta I don't mean that level of success/elite performance, but more of a late bloomer.

Rough outing my Severino last night. They couldn't touch the homeless guy on the mound either.

Positives. Starlin Castro has been good, Tanaka has been Tanaka, and seems healthy, Chapman is coming. Negatives. Too many to list.

Yea thats really the whole list of positives. This is basically what I expected from the offense. And some struggles from the young pitchers is to be expected but the entire rotation has been attrocious minus Tanaka

I expected us to be this bad coming into last year, I guess they beat away father time with a stick for half the year before everything fell apart in August. This just seems like a continuation of that. It's going to get worse before it gets better, but im fine with that.

Im ready for the **** years, we need to take a while, purge ourselves of these huge contracts, and be ready to start over in a few years. We were running away from age catching up to us for over a decade, signing older and older guys as band aid fixes. Now its gotta go back the other way.
