You're just starting to wonder this? I would've started wondering the day they signed him.

I did, but I figured I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. Now, he is just reassuring what I had originall thought.

Just like Jets said....why do you let Leiber go, just to get him? Doesn't make sense.

Especially since Lieber at least had multiple succesful seasons over his career. Other than last year, Jaret Wright has in no way shown that he can be effective as a ML pitcher. And considering he spent last year with the Braves I think it was quite obvious that it was the exception rather than the norm. Maybe it was part of the Yankees' efforts to get younger?

If they wanted younger, why get RJ?

Lets get Peavy, Webb, and Santana

From true Yankee fans, what is the level of panic in the Bronx on a scale of 1-10.

Kinda hard when you don't have a farm system at all anymore. Plus over half your roster is in decline.

The Yanks won't have problems getting younger pitchers in the off-season. All they have to do is sign FA's and then trade them one year later like they did with Vasquez (except the other guy coming back is really old) and pick up a part of his salary.

The Yanks do have 2 prospects (Cano and Duncan) that other teams would find attractive.

I expect Cashman to go after Burnett after this season is over. And if Burnett values money and winning, then he knows where to sign.

Which is exactly what makes watching the Yankees so amusing. They'll throw tons of money at a guy like Burnett who hasn't really demonstrated he can stay healthy. Don't get me wrong, I love Burnett but he only started 23 games over 2003 and 2004.

                      That was good.

                      Jeffrey Maier
                      Chad Curtis
                      Cecil Fielder
Darryl Strawberry and Tim Raines. You can be a true Yankee if you've overcome a drug addiction – if you win. :y4:

Yeah seriously. However, why would Burnett won't to leave a young and talented team. Not to mention one of if not the best rotation in baseball. For the aging Yanks *who very soon will come tumbling down for a few yrs(thanks to the aging roster and depleted farm system)*?
