To be eligible for the playoffs he would have to be added by August 31st. I believe K-Rod was eligible for the Angels because he was in their organization on August 31st, even though he wasn't called up until September.Comment

The Stanton move is one of desperation. This team is horribly flawed and unlikely to make any noise in the playoffs, should they get there. Just be glad Torre was dumb enough to align his rotation so that Small does not pitch this weekend in Boston.Comment

Anyways.. as much as I despise the Red Sox... I want both the Yanks and Sox to make the playoffs because I love the excitement and the anticipation of a matchup.. plus theres no team I'd rather beat on National TV.
