Wells made some great pitches against A-Rod and didn't get one of them...

    now he's struggling.

He thought Wang gave his ball to Jeter. That's why Damon went to 3rd.

For the record, I will never, ever tire of Wang jokes.

In the spirit of keeping things loose, can someone PLEASE comment on Wade Boggs's sweater? Seriously, I think he raided my closet from third grade picture day. That thing is priceless 1988.

Thank you Joe Torre for starting a rookie in game 1. One more win for at least a one game playoff, 2 more for the division.

Actually, if the Sox take 2 out of 3 from the MFY, and the White Sox win their series against the Indians, we don't get a playoff because the MFY owns the head-to-head tiebreaker.

I'm assuming the Indians can win two against the White Sox B-Team, even though they lost tonight.

I think Wakefield will take care of 'bidness, though a little chip shot home run into the Monster seats is always a concern.

Scoring runs off the Big Eunuch seems like the more difficult task. He's going to be throwing smoke again, and getting a ****load of K's. IMO, Ortiz is the only one who might, MIGHT get a big hit off him. Other than that, I have no faith in anybody else in the lineup to get it done.

Of all the Red Sox pitchers of the last 6 years... Wakefield is the one that I've dreaded facing the most in a big game (other than Pedro circa 1999)

The Yankees for some reason cannot hit him. After Sheffield faces him it seems like his swing is off for a few days. Cano is a hitter who should have trouble with him... Sierra should and Flaherty should. The only guys patient enough to hit him is Matsui, Jeter, A-Rod, and Giambi... and we need a ton of runs tonight. My body can't handle a tight game today so I want the Yankees to blow you guys out.

granted he might not have won this game for us today, and he might not have even posted as good numbers with us as he did with the Mets this year, but I really miss Pedro.

Lets wrap this thing up tomorrow and head on out to Chi. I'd really like it if the Angels would knock out the Yankees. I'm really sick of Red Sox/Yankees, this has really been beaten to death.
