Idk but as a Yanks fan... if this involved my team... I would not want to get in the playoffs on a technicality.

What would I be satisfied about? We didn't beat the people necessary to win.... we just got in because of something the other team couldnt control. I wouldnt find that fun at all but thats just me.

I'm sure you were one of the MANY who wanted Tampa Bay to give up the game last year.

Yep and you could have Wakefield as 6th starter/long man if needed.

Of course I did... but if we won the divison by a game... I wouldve felt pretty unstatisfied and cheap.... but if you need to win at any cost... thats your opinion.

Forgot about him, he could be very valuable out of the pen, except for the Mirabelli thing, and I dont want Wake comin in with runners on.

The Sox aren't just going to get rid of him. I'm sure Varitek could catch him for an inning or two.

And if it comes down to that, I'll feel the same.

I say if the White Sox don't want to play then they shouldn't have and you give the Red Sox the win but come last day of the season, and it does matter, then remove the win and play the game.

If it came down to them playing Sox vs Sox...Red Sox would likely win anyways, as Chicago would have already won the Central and have nothing to play for. They'd end up resting almost every starter and pitch some bum.

Steiny over in NY was willing to win the division on a forfeit by the Rays last year. I'd relish the thoughts of winning the division in the same fashion almost as much as winning it outright.

If Papelbon is going to be on the big club next year, I doubt he'll be working out of the BP. Maybe for the rest of this year, but that's about it. damn, just as I was typing this I remembered about Boomer and Wake. Who knows, he probably will be in the pen.

And I wouldn't exactly call Peter Gammons too reliable but he's one of the best out there in a long line of BS sports reporters. I do believe AJ would to pitch for the Sox too. He's supposed to have a great relationship with John Henry from back in his days of owning the Marlins.

When he got ejected... I heard talk of him being suspended which I think is called for. He was going absolutely beserk.

If Pduge and Sheff get suspended for multiple games for getting in the umps face... than Ortiz should also... he was gonna murder the guy if he hadnt been restrained.
