Re: Official Boston Red Sox 2005 Thread

    very ugly now

Anyway....Back to Wagner, what do you think it would take to acquire him? And keeping Foulke as the closer, do you think he'd be willing to move to a setup man type of role?

7th with Timlin, 8th with Wagner, 9th with Foulke....Sounds pretty good (granted all are on track/healthy)

I'll edit this post if I can find a site with some more thorough stats listed than Rotoworld.com

For Wagner? Not sure, to start, maybe Youkilis?

        Doesn't Utley play third?

No Utley plays second. They trade Placido to Detroit. I'm just throwing it out there, not really sure about their courner infield prospects, but I believe David Bell is getting older.

oh yeah I forgot about the Polanco trade, I'm not too sure about their prospect situation either.

Probably not a lot now that he has shot his mouth off about his team...

General manager Ed Wade had no problem with Wagner's comments and liked the fact a veteran player challenged his teammates.

ESPN.com had an article on Wagner a few months ago where Wagner said he might retire after this season.

He's a family man and he said it hurts not being able to watch his kids grow up. He said he's made more than enough money to have a comfortable life.

I think that was taken out of context, he said they were playing at the moment is would not get them into the playoffs.

I don't get what happened to this guy...he really needs some time off. I'm all for letting him go out there and try and work his problems out, but I mean, not at the risk of blowing leads twice a week.

                        yeah

I made a post in the Keith Foulke thread on the main baseball forum, hopefully something is done soon

Jon Papelbon was called up to Pawtucket. I would expect him to be in MLB by the end of the year.

Schilling didn't sound too optimistic on WEEI this morning for the July 10th start. I would expect him to make 1 more rehab start and come back after the all-star break.

Yeah, he didn't like how the game went, so I'd expect him for the Yankee's series after the break. Dissapointing, i would have seen him if he pitched on the 9th.

Well guys, I am going to the game tonight at the movie theaters. I went last week when I called Foulke blowing it in the 9th in the Hafner grand slam game. Hopefully we get better results tonight.
