Re: Official N.Y. Mets Thread
I will absolutely be getting the MLB package next year so I can watch the Mets... Didn't realize how much I'd miss watchin 'em once I left NY...
By the way, what's the news on that Mets channel that's supposed to be formed in the near future?Comment

Can we get that down here without having to order the MLB package? I'd imagine we can't....Comment

Re: Official N.Y. Mets Thread
hey guys - check out foxsports.com.. there are some pretty wacky rumors out there about the mets.. one saying that if the Marlins dont make the playoffs, they would be forced to trade Delgado to the Mets (financial reasons), & another saying that the Mets may deal Beltran for Manny..Comment

Re: Official N.Y. Mets Thread
I dont care how much money Beltran makes. Trading him straight up for Manny would be a horrible decision. Who would play center for the Mets? Cameron? The Mets would be an aging team that would only have 1 or 2 seasons to win it all before going belly up. Beltran will never hit like Manny, but he has to hit better next year than he did during this one. It seems like it takes one full season before a player is confortable playing in NY.
I would just like to add that we should end the two experiments call them failures and trade away Matsui and Zambrano this offseason. Let them try to rebuild their careers on other teams and let the Mets finally move on from the old front office and start fresh next season.Comment

I agree.... Trading Beltran would be nuts, even if it was for Manny, who is probably gonna be on the downswing of his career.Comment

Could the series against the Rockies contain meaningful games? We will see. Mets still have the tragic # of 1
well even if they dont - it's beena great season... finally can see the "light at the end of the tunnel".. ps, it's even funnier to watch what is going on with the Marlins right now - they sent Burnett home for the season, the manager probably wont be back, & if they dont make the playoffs, they may have to trade Delgado in the offseason..Comment

The fact that the possibility still exists is kind of exciting.Comment

Re: Official N.Y. Mets Thread
Any way you look at the final weeks of the season the Mets did not give up and actually have hope for next season. With a rookie manager and some holes in the lineup they actually hung in the race a lot longer than I expected. Jacobs looks like he could fill in the first base spot and if they could do something at Catcher and second base they would have a nice lineup next year. Do not however trade Reyes, Wright, or any young players in a package for Manny Ramirez.Comment
