    Re: The Atlantic 10 Thread

    Scores from 2/20 & 2/21...

    Richmond-79, Charlotte-76
    SLU-69, Fordham-65
    Temple-96, St. Bona-82
    Xavier-75, Duquesne-48
    UMass-98, Rhody-91
    La Salle-81, Dayton-78 (OT)

UD is a bit screwed at the moment. I'm still amazed at how much they miss Chris Wright. I really thought Brian Gregory could get someone to step up or that they'd at least play great defense. Darnell Harris was pretty hot tonight, apparently, but still. Anyway, I think the A-10 might top out with 3 bids now because St. Joe's, Rhody, Temple, and UD are all beating up on each other and not taking care of business against the "weaker" teams in the conference.
    MLB: Cincinnati Reds
    NFL: Cincinnati Bengals
    NCAA Hoops: Xavier Musketeers
    NCAA Football: Miami Hurricanes
    NHL: Calgary Flames

      Scores from this weekend...

      Sat.
      Charlotte-81, SLU-64
      GW-59, Richmond-53
      Fordham-78, Temple-76

      Sun.
      Xavier-57, Dayton-51
      UMass-79, St. Bona-56
      La Salle-75, Duquesne-72
      The Joe-90, Rhody-83

La Salle is en fuego right now. They've won their last 3 conference games. If they keep this up, they'll be one of four teams getting a bye for the A-10 tourney.

Wow, The Explorers are 7-5 in the conference and are right behind Temple. St. Joe's, Temple and La Salle are in the top 5 lmao.

Yep, and Dayton is on the verge of falling into 13th place in the conference, which means they wouldn't go to Atlantic City for the A-10 tournament. Only the top 12 go. How crazy is that?

            Re: The Atlantic 10 Thread

8 teams with legit hopes of getting a first round bye in the A10 tournament, what a crazy season. Xavier is an NCAA lock for sure and St. Joe's is pretty close too without a last-second collapse. After that it looks like either UMass or Rhode Island will get a bid, whichever finished with the best A10 record. There's absolutely no way an A10 team with a sub-.500 conference record will get an at-large, so Dayton needs to not lose again until the A10 conference championship game or they will be NIT bound.

It's been a fun season to follow the league, but if things had played out in a slightly different manner, it could easily have been a 4 or 5 bid season.

That Chris Wright injury has just killed UD. What a disappointing way to conclude a season, especially if they miss the A-10 tourney.

IMO If UMass wins out their in and its very possible that will happen.

Who do you guys have for awards in this league?

                    Scores 2/27

                    Richmond-82, St. Bona-71
                    Temple-75, Charlotte-61
                    GW-85, Rhody-68
                    La Salle-83, Fordham-78

After tonight, Rhody has got to be sweating. Yeah, GW had two guys averaging less than 9 PPG score more than 20 each, they made 13 shots from 3-pt range, but you still have to win the game. Also, the La Salle Explorers continue to roll. If St. Joe's somehow loses tomorrow to SLU, there will be a 4-way tie between them, Richmond, Temple, and La Salle for the #2 seed in the A-10 tournament. AND, Dayton is in a 3-way tie for 11th place in the A-10. What a crazy season this has been.

What in the holy hell got into La Salle??? Those cheesesteaks from Explorer's Den must be real good as of late lmao.

14-13 overall...8-5 in the conference...five straight wins. What the heck is going on?!

It's a shame Darnell Harris is a senior. Good thing is they have young guards coming back that can score well and are taller than Harris (Rodney Green, Kimmani Barrett, etc.), so La Salle just have to hope that transfer Vernon Goodridge does wonders next year.

Could the A-10 possibly be a 2 bid league this year? Xavier is a lock but then who? URI and Dayton have fallen off too much. Same for UMass.

St Joes looks to be the 2nd team in at this point.

I'd say St. Joe's is the other as well but they need to take care of business. They play SLU tonight, Temple Sunday night, Xavier next Thursday, and finish up @ Dayton a week from Saturday. UMass does have a pretty good shot though too. They play @ Richmond, vs La Salle, and @ GW their last 3 games. Gotta take care of business though.

UMass will be looking good if they win their last three, or at least two of the three and pick up a tournament win over Xavier or St. Joe's.

St. Joe's is in a good spot, with all of the pub the league has gotten this year, finishing at 10-6(winning 2 of their last 4) with a good-enough RPI should get them a bid.

Rhody is out unless they win the A10 tournament.

Dayton is a strange case. They will get a ton of consideration for the Chris Wright injury. If they can win out the regular season(which would include a nice win over St. Joe's), they would have scratched back to .500 in league and would get a serious look if they made the A10 finals. It's unheard of for an A10 team to get a bid with a .500 league record, but if they bounce back and get Wright back into the rotation and look as good as they did early, they will be an interesting case on Selection Sunday.

Beating X next Thursday is a must-win situation for them now. Honestly, if X is going to lose one game before the NCAA tournament, it'll be that one. I think they'll do well in the A-10 tourney due to the neutral floor factor playing against everyone.
