Re: The Atlantic 10 Thread
He played a great game. Made some amazing baseline drives with some acrobatic layups. Why nobody from X would cut the baseline off is beyond me. I'm disappointed X lost the game but it isn't a terrible loss RPI-wise, like CM mentions, since Temple's SOS was 9 the last time I checked. The Owls have a good team. That tough OOC schedule should pay dividends in conference play. They just better not lose to the likes of La Salle, St. Bona, or Richmond.MLB: Cincinnati Reds

NHL: Calgary Flames

Re: The Atlantic 10 Thread
Yeah, a huge win, Dayton has been getting serious national pub in the past few weeks, people are starting to put them as a 3 seed in the tournament, it was a huge win. UMass has to take care of business Saturday though, if they stumble against Charlotte the Dayton win will essentially be nullified.Comment

Wow...Rhody falls to SLU 68-61. Interesting start to conference play. Charlotte beats UMass on Saturday, they're in first all alone.MLB: Cincinnati Reds

Re: The Atlantic 10 Thread
I have a feeling the league is going to kill itself into only 3, possibly 2, at-large bids with the way things are going. Dayton could lose quite a few games waiting for Chris Wright to come back, Rhode Island has a -14 point scoring margin in their three conference games and I don't think there is much difference, talent-wise, between UMass, St. Joe's and Charlotte, I think those three will continue to mix impressive wins with bad losses the rest of the way. The only team I have any real faith in is Xavier, but even they have looked shakey at times. If everybody in the top of the leageu finishes league play with 6 or 7 losses, it's going to be tough to get more than 2 bids.Comment

They already are in first all alone, but you're right, they'd continue to be in first all alone with another win

Anyway, I had a bad feeling heading into conference play that, like the last few years, teams are going to beat the crap out of each other and diminish the overall bids for the league. It's nice seeing everyone improve and win games OOC with stronger schedules, but there are 6 or 7 teams that could conceivably win the league. Whoever comes out on top this year will have done an impressive job.
I shutter thinking about the rest of Xavier's road schedule: UMass, Dayton, Charlotte, Rhody, St. Joe's, Saint Louis. They're having some issues playing away from the Cintas Center right now and it's only going to get tougher for them. They need to get things straightened out.MLB: Cincinnati Reds

Just heard that Dayton's Charles Little is out 4-6 weeks with a broken bone in his foot. Between Little and Wright going down, the Flyers cannot catch a break at all, no pun intended. Both of them are great contributors every game.MLB: Cincinnati Reds

Re: The Atlantic 10 Thread
Ya I saw Little on crutches while walking to class the other daytwo of our most athletic players going down is really going to test us. Cordeiro is gunna need to step up since his minutes will be increased. I still think the Flyers X factor is gunna be Binnie and Perry. Roberts is always gunna get his points but the difference (obvious from the UMASS game) is if Binnie and Perry are hot or cold. Wednesday they were WAY off. I just really hope it doesnt hang in Perry's head cuz from all reports hes a shooter.

Re: The Atlantic 10 Thread
Pretty expected weekend, Xavier takes care of GW, UMass handles Charlotte. The only real surprise is Duquesne going down to Fordham. UMass is sitting pretty right now, they are arguably in better shape than Dayton or URI right now with Dayton's injuries and URI's rough start to A10 play. Regardless, if those 4 finish in the top 4 spots in the A10 and avoid losing to the lower half of the league, they all have good shots at at-large bids.
The injuries for Dayton suck, they are such a good team but A10 wins aren't going to be easy this year, losing two of your main rotation guys is really tough.Comment

Re: The Atlantic 10 Thread
True, but it always helps in the RPI!! Yeah Temple does need to be good again. I just wish in 01 they would have beat MSU to get to the FF, because that was a year nobody thought Temple would still be around after the first round much less playing to go to the FF.President of the Devils Den

Re: The Atlantic 10 Thread
Someone had to. Nobody else stepped up along with him this time. Against Xavier it was Tyndale and Guzman who played well in addition to Christmas. Against SLU Tyndale shot horribly and Guzman didn't do anything either. I want Temple to keep winning. Helps Xavier.MLB: Cincinnati Reds

Re: The Atlantic 10 Thread
The Little injury really hurts the Flyers. They could afford to lose wings players to injuries because they have great depth out there, but they are hurting for inside players. Marcus Johnson is going to have to continue to step up his game, especially on the boards.Comment
