Great! I'll add you to the list. The first page explains a lot of what we'll need to know. At some point in the next week, we'll split up the 32 conferences between however many people we have. The point of the research for your conferences is to assemble team profiles for any teams that could make the NCAA tournament whether as an at large or an automatic qualifier. We will at some point have to figure out to rank smaller conference winners, so the profiles could help. For example: W-L, Home, Road and Neutral, Big Wins, Big Losses, SOS, etc.

I'm thinking of developing a template in excel that could organize information. Any feedback or ideas on anything we do is more than welcomed.

I haven't seen you post in the college basketball forum all season. What conferences do you watch and what teams? We want people that love watching college basketball throughout the season and know a good amount about a variety of teams. Information on how the selection process works is on the 1st page of this thread, so if you are interested please read that.

I haven't posted all season, or ever for that matter, in the college basketball forum. However, I am an avid watcher of college hoops; and I feel that anybody with a good working knowledge of the major metrics in college basketball should do a good job in selection.

I have watched ACC, Big XII, B1G (Nebraska avatar), MVC, Pac-12, SEC, Big Sky, Summit, and MWC, basketball this season.

Let me know what you decide.

I love watching ACC basketball no matter who's playing, and I follow my favorite team UNC closely along with Villanova, my hometown team. I know about the small conferences too and even though I prefer to watch the ACC, I'll watch just about anyone play.

Actually, strike my submission.

I'm going to be in New Orleans from the 4th-8th and so won't have time to research adequately. Don't want to create a commitment I probably won't be able to honor.

I'll try to post more in the subforum and if you do this again next year, I'll be down for it.

I talked it over with Hurley and Storm and they will both be in the selection committee. We can start picking conferences tonight, there isn't a point in waiting any longer. I'm going to allow Hurley to have 2 conferences for now to see how the time commitment is and I will let Storm have 3 conferences. That means the rest of us will have 5 conferences each and there will be 2 conferences left over for now. My plan is to wait to divide up those last 2 conferences until after the weekend to see if anybody new joins or anything else happens.

For a draft order, we are going to do a 1st round with the 5 people who will each have 5 conferences and go reverse order in the 2nd. Then I'm going to let Storm and Hurley pick 2 conferences each and we'll continue to draft after that with the same order from before. Storm will get the last pick in the draft to round out his/her 3rd conference. Draft order was determined by join date on the website.

What I think will be a quicker and better way to draft is for each us to submit a Top 10 list for the 1st 2 rounds instead of waiting for each person to reply for each individual pick and then do another Top 10 list once we get through the 2nd round and another top 10 list at the end.

Does that sound good with everyone? I don't know how to split up 30 conferences in an easier way .

Good first pick! Can you make a list of 10 conferences and rank them in order of which one you prefer the most. This will allow the draft to go faster so I can just look at the list and give everybody their top preference remaining instead of us all waiting around for everyone else. You can PM me that list if you want to make your list private.

Edit: We will do 2 more top 10 lists after the 1st and 2nd round are done. I just want to see how everything goes 1st.
