I tried attaching it earlier and it wouldn't work either.

Re: OS Mock Selection Committee
Another thing I am wondering about since I just started reading some of those attachments from the first page. There's the clause about how members don't discuss seeding or vote for any school/conference they represent.
We don't officially represent any conferences technically, but we sort of do. Just wondering if we were going to just skip that part.Comment

Re: OS Mock Selection Committee
Hi guys, I have been a long time visitor to OS but just registered today. I think you have a great idea and I am interested in participating/assisting you guys. To add some background about myself on the topic, I have participated in Joe Lunardi's class on Bracketology that was ran through his office at St. Joseph's where we had a selection committee. This is a great process to go through and I have done mock selections by myself in the past couple years following my class. If you don't mind, I would love to be included. Thank you and let me know.Comment

Re: OS Mock Selection Committee
After getting some feedback, I worked on the template more because I realized it wasn't as easy to copy and paste. Here is the updated link to view it. What I want is feedback on which style that people like better?
DELETED LINK, CHECK NEXT PAGE FOR UPDATED LINK.
The CONF 1 tab is the original way I did it and the CONF 2 tab is the updated way. The CONF 2 tab seems to be easier to copy and paste. If we like the CONF 2 tab, I'll give everybody the website that we can use the copy and paste from and instructions on how to do it.Last edited by phenom1990; 03-05-2014, 01:15 PM."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. Re: OS Mock Selection Committee
So what do people think of the template? Is it something that you think looks good and can help?
DELETED LINK, UPDATED IT DOWN ON THIS PAGE
I think the overview tab could be very helpful with sorting teams quickly and comparing. I think the conference tab would allow for us to look at a team more in depth with results from the entire year, etc.
If we want to use the conference 2 tab I have in there. The quickest way to put schedule information in is to go to http://www.sports-reference.com/cbb.
1.Then click on your respective team and click on schedule and results.
2. From Schedule and Results click SHARE.
3. Then click the X on all columns that aren't the date, home/away, team and score.
4. After that copy and paste it into excel or google docs.Last edited by phenom1990; 03-05-2014, 01:15 PM."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. I just think them up and write em down". - Cartman

Re: OS Mock Selection Committee
If the schedule will copy and paste then cool, but even so, it seems quicker to just pull up someone's schedule on ESPN than to flip through tabs on the bottom, and then scroll around for it, especially if we have 31 tabs for each conference once we combine all the data.Comment

Re: OS Mock Selection Committee
My 2 major reasons for wanting to create a template were to:
1. Help organize information on all teams in a central location.
2. Allow people to not worry so much about how to organize and worry more about what information to include.
If there are other things I didn't put in the template that you want to add, go right ahead I don't want to restrict others. When it comes to putting in numbers like SOS, please specify if you used RPI SOS, BPI SOS or whatever other SOS metric exist.
I don't expect people to fill out how a team did vs the top 25, 26-50, etc in RPI, BPI and Ken Pom because I know everyone doesn't have access to all that information besides RPI. I just wanted to give people options if they prefer one to the other. Personally, I feel most comfortable with RPI because I've used it in the past. Whatever you prefer is fine, please just specify which one you used; especially in the overview tab that Tovarich did a great job organizing for which we have 2 columns for W-L vs top 50 and top 100.
I'm going to send the template out as an attachment tonight or tomorrow morning; I was able to create a couple gmail accounts but gmail stopped me after 3 accounts because it thinks I may be a spammer lol. So I'm going to pm each person a # which represents your committee member #.
If you want to create a gmail account, please make the email oscommittee with whatever your # is at the end. If you don't want to use gmail, please send me an email at [email protected]; so I can send you an email with an attachment for the template."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. I just think them up and write em down". - Cartman

Re: OS Mock Selection Committee
Here is the updated template, I left my work and Tovarich work on the overview tab so others could get a feel for what it looks like. I did the same thing for 1st tab NEC, which you can rename and delete the information I have there on Robert Morris. It's there so you can a feel for how it looks and so you can evaluate whether you like the look. Updated the link. It's probably easier than me emailing you so when you click on the link: 1. Click File 2. Download as Microsoft Excel
