Re: OS Mock Selection Committee
When you're done with your conferences, you can email me at [email protected] either as a google doc or an excel attachment. I will combine everything. After all of the research is submitted, we can do our initial ballot. Details on that are on the 1st page, I'll go over that later as I'm a little busy right now. What would everyone prefer as the deadline to submit the research? I think 8 or 9 et works good. I can combine everything and then we can all do the initial ballot tomorrow night ."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. I just think them up and write em down". - Cartman

Re: OS Mock Selection Committee
There are some ACC games tomorrow, I'm pretty much done on all my stuff except inserting this weekend's games, so as soon as all my team's games are done, I'm good. Whoever has the Big 10 though, the Wisconsin-Nebraska game is going to go until about 9 EST tomorrow.Comment

Re: OS Mock Selection Committee
I thought about this more. I want to give 2 options for the initial ballot. One is to go with the original plan above for submitting profiles and doing the initial ballot tomorrow night. The 2nd option is to submit the profiles after all of the games are done tomorrow and allow people to submit their initial ballot by the morning if they want to. Which option would everybody prefer? The 2nd option pushes everything back by a half of day for voting in at large teams but I think the effect is minimal."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. I just think them up and write em down". - Cartman

Re: OS Mock Selection Committee
Does anyone really need that data for the initial ballot? Just speaking for myself, I don't need to look at data on bubble teams and smaller conference champions to determine who I think the top 36 teams are. I made my list today, and there's not really anything that's going to happen tomorrow to change my mind on the top 36 anyway. The data we're compiling mainly is for seeding everyone at the end isn't it? So, I say we still vote tomorrow night because this data, being incomplete anyway since there's another week of conference tournaments, is more about ordering teams later than us voting in 36 obvious tournament teams. The list of teams who deserve consideration, I guess I could see how that data could be useful, but seems to me there should be some enormous number of teams on the list, and then later we will use that data to weed them out, rather than using that data now to determine who should be considered at all.Comment

Re: OS Mock Selection Committee
For the most part, the profiles help with seeding and figuring out the last couple at larges.
As of now, let's go with you must submit your conference research/profiles by 830 ET to [email protected]. I will combine all of the profiles and at 9ET, I will release the initial ballot and we will do that tonight. I'm going to create a new thread for all of this tonight. I would like everyone to submit their initial ballot by 1am ET, so I can tally it up before I go to bed. We will know who we voted into the field and who is on the under consideration list. If that time frame doesn't work for you, please let me know.
Then the plan for Monday is: By 1 pm ET, submit a list of your 8 best teams on the under consideration list. The link on the 1st page explains it.
2. Each committee member will select the best eight teams from the “under-consideration” board, in no particular order, to be added to
the at-large field:
a. When 20 or more teams are under consideration in “list” ballots, each member shall select eight teams;
b. When 14 to 19 teams are under consideration, each member shall select six teams;
c. When 13 or fewer teams are under
consideration, each member shall select
four teams.
Tuesday afternoon, we do the same process as we did by Monday afternoon; only difference is that only 4 teams get moved into the at-large ballot because we already have another 4 on there.
Essentially, we keep repeating this process everyday. At any point in the week, we can start seeding process but I think it's best if we don't start that to Wednesday or Thursday at least.
I attached the bracketing procedures as a pdf here.Attached Files"Ma'am I don't make the rules up. I just think them up and write em down". - Cartman

Re: OS Mock Selection Committee
Sent my data in. NC State-Boston College is the only game left in the ACC later. Don't know if anyone is really giving NC State any serious consideration right now, but the first 30 games are in the overview for now. I'll add a complete profile for them later if anyone's giving them any thought.
I skipped the SWAC for now with the SWAC regular season winner being ineligible.Comment

Re: OS Mock Selection Committee
I'm waiting on some people to email their conference profiles over. How close is everybody to emailing me them? I already got profiles from 4 people including myself.
EDIT 1:Here is what we have so far:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...lE&usp=sharing
EDIT 2:
I shared it and made it editable with anyone whose email I already have. There are a number of reasons but in the case I have an emergency pop in, things can still go along.
Also if you are editing it right now and adding your own profiles:
On the overview tab, add the teams at the bottom and I'll resort them alphabetically by conference.Last edited by phenom1990; 03-09-2014, 08:18 PM."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. I just think them up and write em down". - Cartman

Re: OS Mock Selection Committee
I'm waiting on everyone to submit the overview/profiles on their conferences. I haven't received one from everyone, so I'm not starting the voting process yet or the new thread."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. I just think them up and write em down". - Cartman
