Thought some of you might find this interesting. It relates to the ridiculous vc problem that 2k seems to have. Hopefully they see this and can understand it from a players standpoint. Especially when Sony's own president gets it.

Would like to add for those who don't read the article that the context for this is concerning Gran Turismo 6, which is facing the same heat over microtransactions right now. He's saying that the game's credit-earning structure hasn't changed to make them more difficult to earn (therefore not forcing the microtransactions on people). And several early-adopter impressions I've read from a couple of sites (Eurogamer and GTPlanet, to be exact) seem to corroborate that.

True enough that microstransactions themselves arent bad, it's just when they are abused it becomes a problem. Like how game companies have abused DLC last gen. On disk, and day one DLC was the point the where I stood up and said "Why is this even a thing?" And I'll never support these shady pricing tactics or "micro" transactions as long as it's being abused. Yoshida is right, I can understand someone who is busy and wants to buy a little helper, but don't make the game a grind fest for players who don't want that stuff.

yeah, you still earn millions of credits to buy cars. unlike 2k where you earn 1000vc per year as a contract. i was very curious why 2k decided to not at least make vc be semi-realistic #s for contracts and stuff. maybe they thought people wouldn't want to spend 50mil vc just to buy some arm bands and 7k sounds better.

Given that much of the next gen game appears to be new, instead of looking at it from the perspective that things were removed it's entirely possible that perhaps there wasn't time to get things added/tested properly - and so it was safer to go with the new stuff than try to integrate everything, only to have something not work, and people blow the whole thing off as broken. Which I'm sure some will still try to push anyway

yeah.... this is why people are pissed, not only did they remove half the features from CG but the stuff they left in doesn't even work properly. (not even the overdone VC! smh..)

Truth be told, early on when I missed a ton of shots, I asked the same question. Assure you there is no "scripted" events or moments. It's based off stuff like emotion plus/EcoMotion.

A lot of stuff effects the players moods - shooting poorly or shooting poorly from the line will trigger events in MyCAREER, not the other way around.

surprised that dudes really like all the "my" modes- the storyline and cutscenes are pure crap.

hoping we can just get -

30 team classic association added back in for 15 with same features as cg 14.

that would be a huge upgrade over ng14

I saw this and forgot to post it. Was just about to now once I remembered. Anything that guy says I would take with a huge grain of salt. Ironically I've seen this happen to 5 different people and all games were damn near blow outs.

Yeah thats why we get the forced 2 missed shots at the free throw line with A+ timing and release then we get the scene for that

Then we get the bad shooting night which is also forced and it triggers another scene

Scripted or not, this online-only thing and in your face micro transactions need to go. Straight up. So much deception in this years game...truly disgusting.

The fact that you have to pay VC to adjust LINEUPS is just insane, and that they took out Association which was the only mode I really played on 2k13.

2k is letting their success get to their heads.

No new classic teams is the main reason why I am pissed at 2k sports.

I wouldn't say im pissed with them with this but its something id like to see changed. 2K14 marks the 3rd game which has seen the same Classic Teams used and I would like to think we see something new with legends in 2K15 and not just the same teams again with no change. Even change which year of the team we get so instead of the 1995 Knicks give us the 1993 Knicks or different Bird and Magic teams. As someone who spent most of their time on current gen 2K using legends in Association Mode it would be nice to have some new guys to use.

I agree. The classic faction of NBA 2K fans exists, and they're pretty die-hard about their basketball. I feel pushing those fans away by ignoring that portion of real-life NBA basketball history is not going to do 2K any more favors.

If I had to be real, I think some classic team additions and generalized improvements (return of era filters, option for no three point line for 60's and 70's contests) could go a long way toward bringing true NBA fans back onto the 2K ship.

However, instead of improvements, 2K has regressed in this regard, so there's not a lot of incentive for me to come on board with a new 2K. Not only have the legends been more or less untouched, but it now appears the generic players cannot be properly edited on next gen as a means of correctly filling out the rosters (while also eliminating our ability to create our own).

I think turning an eye back to the league's history while re-introducing customization would be two tremendous ways to get 2K back on track.
