I have had this game 2 days and it is literally a piece of junk. 2k should be ashamed for putting out this nonsense. The gameplay is ok, but MyGM and MyPlayer are just pure 100% terrible. If Live wants to catch up to 2k and put them out of the gaming industry, now is the time because 2k is a 4 out of 10 tops.

I am debating on trading mine in for either the PS3 version or PS4 Assassin's Creed.

Something else besides all the points made in the original post, is it too much to ask to have some white guy voices in the game. I find it borderline stereotyping that all the white guys in the game have black voices. Just because it is a basketball game. It's really pathetic to be honest. This halfway made title made me lose a lot of respect for 2k.

The problem with the game is it is becoming a pay 2 win game. Everything is done through VC, they dont give you enough VC from playing trying to force you to buy it. The choice comes down to paying or putting in a ton of hours just for basic upgrades. Sucks though because micro transactions are the future of gaming. Its only going to get worse.

Im actually surprised by how many people say how great this game is on the court. Is it visually stunning? Yes. Does it play anazing? Nit in my opinion. Still way too much BS unrealistic things going on IMO.

If you are a simulation association player like me and so many, then you got absolutely robbed. I am sorry. I have been on this forum 4 years. I never complain about games. I've bought every 2k since 2k5, and every madden since 05. Every copy of the show since 08. every fifa since 10. I've never been so disappointed with a game in my life as I was when I got 2k14 for Ps4. My excitement turned into utter anguish in a matter of minutes.

My opinion of 2k before picking up the PS4 was completely positive. I loved the games. I am a hardcore sim head. I play association with 30 team control. I adjust every roster and rotation to mirror real life. I never cared what new features they added, because they always gave us the option to turn things on or off as we see fit. Didn't want cpu trades? turn it off. you want to control 1 team or 30? Your choice. player roles? on or off. Adjust rotations? As you see fit. Wanna create a player? upto you. and now...

I feel like they tore everything down that made this game great. It has turned into a fantasy rpg game. All i ever see is stuff about myplayer and mycareer. It is making me so angry to see this. I understand that mode is hugely popular. That is not my issue. I never had an issue with it in the past. Having that mode is great for those who like it. I have never touched it. I am 100% association. 2k prided itself in being a sim basketball game. Now they have turned it into a fantasy game. They have made it impossible to have a realistic simulation of an nba basketball team.

Honestly at this point I wouldnt even care if they charged me VC to get all the association options back from 2k13. I would pay the VC. I just want our game back. The game we all loved.

Thats why u should of got nba live 14 its got all the game modes u need .. Its the best sports next gen game bro ... I know somebody that will trade u for your nba 2k if u like to.. Nba live will fulfill your needs

Thats why u should of got nba live 14 its got all the game modes u need .. Its the best sports next gen game bro ... I know somebody that will trade u for your nba 2k if u like to.. Nba live will fulfill your needs

Well said, feel the same way. MyGM has the potential to be a massive upgrade over Association, but right now it's a disgrace.

One thing I want to add is that the storylines and voice acting and all of that stuff is not even any good. If I wanted to play an RPG I'd play an RPG (and I do play alot of RPG's). If this game were rated for it's RPG aspects it be a 1/10. It's just not good as an RPG, in any respect.

In Sports games I tell the story myself in my head, or by posting storylines to some kind of forum. I don't want all this storytelling crap. I just want a sports game where I can manage the daily running of my team.

Give me concession prices, ticket prices, give me all of that. Let me delegate it to an assistant if I feel like it. But let ME tell the story. Because it's my freaking story, when I play a sports game.

I dont even have any problem with MyGM. I have no problem with any of the modes. The problem is they force feed it to us. Why couldn't they just leave association untouched for those who want to still play it and add MyGM as a completely seperate mode? I don't understand it. If i wanted to play online, I would go play online. I just want to have a realistic simulation offline association like we have had in all the years past. I don't want to have to load rosters from a server everytime I want to play.

Once again, adding on other modes and ideas is fine with me. Just keep in the options to play the game how we want to play it. And one other thing. I don't understand why they are so hellbent on not letting people edit their own rosters? Do they feel shame when people make a way better roster than the developers themselves?

I'm a bit of a different player compared to a lot of people on here - I don't really care about any online stuff, I stick mostly to Association/MyGM and I try not to dwell on the little things too much. With that said, there are a few absolute things I have to point out:

I think the VC stuff is really, really, really gross. I understand if it could get you some cool things, but having to get it to get the shoes for the MyPlayer you created yourself is...shockingly horrible. Besides that, there are some longstanding issues, but I still have a bit of faith in this team to do the right thing.

Other than that...I'm really enjoying this game. Sure, the shoes might be wrong on said player but I don't necessarily stress out over things of that nature (but I can totally understand if you do). It looks amazing, I like how it plays, I can safely say I've had some of the most intense "instant classic" moments I've had in sports games thus far, and if I can find a way around MyGM VC (and I'm sure I won't to an effective degree), I'll be okay.

I'm glad there is an entire community here to discuss the weak points of the game that I could never think of, that's awesome. Developers should pay attention. But we can't forget to have fun, either. Really, go have some fun!

I hear you. That is all I play as well is association/myGM mode. Its just so hard for me to see the cpu make these completely unrealistic trades and I cant do anything about it. I am a hardcore sim guy though so it probably doesnt bother most like it does to me. I am one of those guys that if I see the 3rd string point guard is on the wrong team I have to go and immediately fix it. That cannot be done this year. The user control over teams has been completely eliminated. It is unfortunate. With that said, I am trying my best to have fun. I've resorted to playing quick games and trying to dial in my sliders before I start up MyGM. The good thing is, I am close to being done with my sliders and the game is playing very good on the court. Close to being excellent as soon as I get the last few things tuned in. The only thing thats really mediocore is the spacing on the court. Does anyone know how to fix this?

IMO, I dont feel like I was bamboozled by 2k with their NG 2k14. I enjoy playing myCareer, yes even their corny scripted story. The only thing I am disappointed is that the same issues in 2k13, CG 2k14 are still there in NG 2k14. Namely, the unrealistic breakdown of your minutes. I am playing as a starter (after 33 games) playing with 41 minutes (really???) but I play both 3rd and 4th qtr, in spite of me committing so many TO, 5th foul early in the 3rd, missing so many shots.

I WAS HOPING THAT NG 2k14 will be "organic" since it has more capacity than CG. For example, even if I am a starter but having a rough game, I should not be out there playing 41 minutes (or more). If I commit my 4th foul early in the 3rd, I'll be pulled out and perhaps but back in early or mid of 4th. I can be yanked by the coach if I commit certain number of TO in a quarter.

That myCareer will carry out the "story" according to the way I play or situation I am in NOT THAT I WILL BE FORCED to play in certain situation.

I HOPE 2K WILL addressed this with their patch.
