Prior to release, 2K was promising a full featured, next gen experience. We all know now that they were exaggerating quite a bit.

They failed to mention a few things to us before we all bought the game.

1. No CAP, at all..

2. No saving of rosters to your HDD

3. Once you create a save while being connected to the 2K servers, you HAVE to be connected at all times to use these saves.

4. VC being EVERYWHERE, not just in MyCareer or MyTeam. (Along with prices still being ridiculously high, in some cases even higher than CG)

5. We were promised a groundbreaking experience with MyGM. So far all we got is crazy high VC prices to do anything, the same flaws from CG, and some new gamebreaking bugs riddled through the mode, it's basically unplayable.

6. MyCareer is scripted beyond belief, for the first time in this mode it doesn't even feel like we're controlling our own character, we're just playing out a story. When the game wants your team to lose, or you to have a bad game, you're basically forced to play poorly to further the story. Not what we wanted, not how it should be.

7. Defensive settings removed for POE. We're still not 100% on how these actually work.

These are just a few of the multitude of issues, missing things, game breaking bugs in certain modes, etc. So, my question to you all is, do you feel like 2K played us all when they made the promises they did? Graphics are great, gameplay is good, but I feel like they lied to us when they promised a fully featured next gen title.

Just a few more from a fellow poster:

Only 1 roster save at a time as far as I can tell. I tried to save a second roster and it saved over my first one.
-no playoffs mode
-no multiplayer association
-terrible menu
-editing rosters- player roles edits dont "stick"- revert back to original
-editing sliders- several edits dont "stick"-have to be reset every time you play a quick game
-have to download your roster every time to play a quick game
-no custom roster under NBA Today
-no official roster updates yet- missing players-this is the one thing that will eventually get corrected?
-no options to turn off bad cpu ai for trades/player roles/fa signings
-rotations get reset by cpu in season mode for cpu teams-terrible rotation logic-still broken

If I had known then what I know now I would have never purchased this game. I never play online. Just play seasons or Association modes with me making trades for all teams and not the cpu. Guess mine is going on eBay

Don't worry, online is impossible too. Input lag is godawful, never was this bad on current gen, and it makes staying in front of anyone impossible.

I have a question. Why is that every single year after year we all complain about online mode in 2k? Laggy, cheesy, all sort of junk. Why is it only that 2k is the only company that has online issues? If it's like this year after year, doesn't clear shows they could care less about online mode and they mainly focus on offline? Cmon.. We go through this every single year. Till this day 2k still haven't fixed the online issues, they have tons if $$$$ but are they being greedy and not caring about online mode?? Year after year, complaints after complaints. Online issues, 2k8 had the best online ever hands down. Now they just randomly put you in a quick match and they find you an opponent. So lame, I'm a sim head and I only play sim basketball style. I dislike it with a passion having to randomly match up with a casual player. It's really really annoying that every single year we have to complain about the online issue we experience. It just getting ridiculous honestly. I feel like we're too lenient with 2k in regards to online mode. Every single year online issues. Why can't it run like call of duty where there are thousands of users playing it and no online issues whatsoever. Why can't they changed their online mechanic or whatever garbage they are using that's keep screwing the online mode so we don't have to keep complaining.

And I would seriously would like to know, who in the blue hell did they hire to do the 2k menu? I've never seen such hideous ugly game menu in my life. 2k you guys should fire that person who you allowed to do the menu and should feel very ashamed of yourself if you feel that's a good looking menu cause in reality it's pure garbage.

Another thing, why do we have to press 2 commands to run a play??? Why did you guys make it so difficult for?? You guys should have left the playbook. Why change something when it was never broken? Smh.. Doesn't make sense one bit at all, if I'm in a game and I want to run a quick iso I have press 2 buttons? Wow. Seriously?? And taking defensive settings out? Wooooooow. That just sealed it, whos idea was this??????
. No playoff mode? Someone's brain isn't working properly at 2k company and making things so much worse, I wish you guys didn't hire an ex EA worker and letting him run things now. Seriously I'm very disappointed.

Last thing. Ronnie2k and LD2K yall are really really good at exaggerating things. You guys over hyped this game. Must be getting paid really good for this fake marketing. Not trying to hate and sound disrespectful but honestly this game is very disappointing. This could have been the best game in the world if 2k didn't have to change things and mess things up. Sooo disappointed. I swear I wish I didn't have to waste 60 bucks

i just hope this isn't the beginning of a downward spiral for 2k this gen like what happened with Madden last gen.

Think about it Madden never recovered from that half-baked Madden 06 piece of garbage they put out.

Jim Sterling had another look at the fee to pay model. It's unfortunate none of the reviews for 2K14 mention the microtransaction model that has spread into every aspect of the game.

I think the VC stuff is really, really, really gross. I understand if it could get you some cool things, but having to get it to get the shoes for the MyPlayer you created yourself is...shockingly horrible. Besides that, there are some longstanding issues, but I still have a bit of faith in this team to do the right thing

Yes, yes and again yes. Too much VC, VC price of alln-game items is unreasonable. VC is in ALL game modes. The game is missing modes. I will give them a couple of weeks to fix this game, and if there is no change I will buy back 2K14 for the 360 and NEVER buy another 2K product. Greed is so infuriating! I have contacted Tech Support and Customer Support, all of you need to do the same, push and prod, scream like hell and vote with your wallets to be treated fairly. I paid $60 for this lacking garbage!

Downward spiral has started and will continue until NBA live becomes competitive and takes back the market share. 2 of the modes are damn near impossible to play without VC and the modes that don't need VC are totally screwed and neglected (online quick game/lgs)

I like the core game. It's actually quite good.

But anything that's presented as "mindblowing", "game changing", or will "make you forget about other modes", expect it to be one of the more underwhelming and forgettable additions-- ie. The Park and Crews, perhaps two of the biggest missteps this year, and the whole Jay-Z treatment last year.

Though I suppose The Park might actually be fun if it's fixed, but it's basically more Blacktop without leaderboards or the ability to form teams with friends in the form of a neat but seemingly shallow tech demo.

It's the official, big announcements that don't get the teasing and hinting treatment that are usually worthwhile, like MyCareer and MyGM. Sure, not everyone likes the changes, but they're definitely huge and properly implemented could be phenomenal.

MyGM is broke, the goals don't work. Says sign a sixth man blah blah blah. You sign one and it still says goal failed. That's just one of the problems. I can write a 20,000 page manuscript of problems with this game.

I lowered my expectations when all Ronnie wanted to talk about were the visuals. Yeah,Ronnie we see that the game looks good, now tell us about the other stuff.

Truth is a part from the core game developpers you could probably fire a good half of theses people who works for Nba 2K games.

The people in charge of the rosters: worthless.
Game menu designer: terrible
Game's general direction: Greedy, cheesy and sad.
Marketing: Annoying, fake and so over the top.

What we had this year as far as marketing? A code (CR335) for a a glorified blacktop mode, Stat inc wich is at least half BS, A mind blowing park who's just a laggy and unfinished mess... I hope next year the guys who come in here to market the game and feed us their BS get 0 credit.

Man, Ronnie and LD2K are gonna have a hard time getting anyone to buy into what they bring to OS this year. I certainly won't even bat an eye the next time they hype some huge, game changing announcement.

It's been nothing but B.S. the past two years. Hopefully others will follow suit.
