Re: My Career Method to Being Traded to Your Favorite Team
ok,
so I know the directions said that to get to your fav team, it's best to choose a position that the team has need for.
My fav is the Wizards, and after their playoff run, I want to be there...however, I also only play pg (pass first).
So anyway, I followed the directions and the wiz were the 2nd team on the list when i told the the gm to trade the star....the kings were #1
but instead of trading me after the 5th game like it said (and giving the wiz a chance to move up to 1st), the gm traded me after only the 2nd game and I went to the kings.
so here's my question...if I start over and try it again, does this option come up again later, or does it only come up in Jan?
cause if I start over and the wiz are number 2 again, I'll wait some more games to make sure they're number 1 if it helps me get there...but I also don't want to go through this tedious process again if there's really no way to get to my wiz

So there is no way I can get the star teammate traded without the GM trading me?Comment

Re: My Career Method to Being Traded to Your Favorite Team
Seems to be alot of questions so I wanna try and help clean up some things:
In terms of when you are actually traded that seems to vary for people. The main thing to keep in mind is that if your desired team is not at the top of the list, DONT ASK FOR TEAMMATE TO BE TRADED YET. The question begins coming up around Jan, but some people have not yet become starters which I think is what's messing yall up.
Your team of choice will show interest ONLY AFTER you make the starting 5. Until this happens keep cool with GM. Also, the sidekick scene ONLY MATTERS if your desired team STILL IS NOT AT THE TOP OF LIST. If this is the case then you still should play it cool and go along. Trust me, as soon as you crack the starting lineup your team will show interest.
Do not get paranoid and ask for a trade or for teammate to be traded just because January hits. Again it takes a little longer for some to get there but by mid-late January you should be in the lineup and your team will then be most interested. Within a few games you'll get the don't get along with teammate option again.
Also do not ask more than once. Once you are a starter, your team of choice is most interested, and you have the GM meeting where u ask for teammate to be traded, any future GM meetings should be handled as normal (Things are Great) until you are traded.
I have also found it to be alot smoother if your MyPlayer is a position of need or an upgrade to whoever is currently at that position. For example my team was the Spurs so I went SG since I knew I was better than D. Green and Belineli. I don't think it's a deal breaker but it certainly helps.
And as for the Rumor mill, I was there for a few games and then gone. There was no longer any mention that I was being shopped, and the gap between team interest levels narrowed a bit, but ultimately around end of Jan, 1st week of Feb I was moved.
Just follow the steps and most of all BE PATIENT. Not everyone gets the same experience. (I never even got sidekick cutscene), but the process does work. Best of luck!!

What month? What position are you playing? Have you received the option "Don't get along with teammate" yet? If so how did you answer?

Re: My Career Method to Being Traded to Your Favorite Team
FINALLY!!!
It took me 4 tries using this method, but I finally made it to my wiz as a pg.
I had almost lost hope, but thanks to the op for this
I do want to add though, that after 4 attempts, I learned a few things that may help others
1) Your team of choice actually CAN be the 1st team PRIOR to you starting. It depends on how you play as a bench player...I was determined that every game I played I was going to get either a B+ or any A grade and the wizards showed they were interested in me before I became a starter. Once I became a starter, their interest really skyrocketed but it didn't matter as they were already #1
2) It appears you can also do this without asking for the teammate to be traded. You can also tell the gm that you don't get along with the coach. He'll ask you if you can work it out, but then you get the option to "trade him" just as you would the star teammate. Weird I know, to request the coach get traded, but if your team is number 1, you can use this option if it comes up prior to the teammate option, and you'll still get traded to the number 1 team.
3) again it appears as if your team gets to the top the better teammate grade you get. So if you are already starting and your team isn't number 1, get them there quicker by getting A+ teammate grades.
Hope this helpsLast edited by oouie433; 06-01-2014, 11:52 AM.Comment
