Just wanted to thank the poster...this worked like a charm. Went EXACTLY according to the script and I am now a member of my NY Knicks. The only bad thing...the team I left (Trailblazers) were the #1 seed in the west. New we're killing folk. Had a 4 game lead in the conference. Knicks are .500. I got work to do!

Re: My Career Method to Being Traded to Your Favorite Team
So I tried this method and followed each step. All was good when I asked for the star player to be traded. I want to play for Dallas and they were the team most interested in me. Even when my agent told me things were heating up the Mavs were at the top of the list. But then all of a sudden the Portland Trailblazers jumped to the top and sure enough when I got traded I went to Portland. I understand the process isn't flawless but it looks like it works for most people.
So here's my questions: has anyone been traded to the Mavs? Or does anyone have any friends that got traded to the Mavs?
It took me several hours to get to this point playing 12 min qtrs so I'm trying to decide if I want to start over and try again or just keep with my save and ask for a trade next time I can. Anyone have any other suggestions?Comment

Re: My Career Method to Being Traded to Your Favorite Team
Just wanted to update with some things I learned trying this method again. I played on the Kings, and just like last time, I never got the sidekick scene with them. I'm not sure if it's because I was higher rated than their star player (Rudy Gay), or if there's another reason for it not happening.
Instead of waiting for the sidekick scene, I ask for the star to be traded as soon as I make the starting line-up. There are two GM meetings in between making starter (sometime along the 35-game mark) and the trade deadline, where you have the option to tell your GM you don't get along with a teammate. The first one will come up right after you make starter, and the 2nd is close to the ASG. I asked to get Gay traded at that first opportunity, but I guess through good play and press conference answers my GM relationship was quickly repaired. That, and telling my GM everything was fine in upcoming meetings. Soon enough I was at +20% GM relationship and was no longer up for trade. When the second meeting came up where I could ask for Gay to be traded again I opted not to. Nearing the deadline I panicked, and I told the GM I didn't get along with the coach, which bumped my favourite team to number 2 on the list of teams interested in me, and I was soon traded to the Bobcats instead.
I think the best way to go about this is to ask for the star player to be traded at that second meeting. There won't be enough time to repair your GM relationship, and you won't have to do other stupid **** to make sure your GM stays mad at you. I've done it this way before and it worked well.Comment

Re: My Career Method to Being Traded to Your Favorite Team
Did you play against Portland just before you got traded there? I've noticed that whenever you have a huge game against a certain team, their interest in you receives a bump that'll quickly dissipate again. To guard against this I'd advice to keep tabs on who the most interested teams are, and if you have an upcoming game against them, just bomb it.Comment

I have yet to hear of anyone play for Dallas. I'm honestly kinda wondering if you actually can play for them.

Re: My Career Method to Being Traded to Your Favorite Team
"5. This is the whole key to the process. When the GM comes to check in on you, tell the GM you do not get along with a teammate. When you pick a teammate, pick the STAR teammate. This is the highest rated teammate and the one who asserts himself as the star of the team during cutscenes, i.e. the one who you watch film with, asks you to be his sidekick, etc. Whem the GM asks if this is seriously an issue and whether you can resolve this pick "no, trade him" The GM will say he will see what he can do and blah blah blah."
You do this in January right ignore it till then?Comment

Re: My Career Method to Being Traded to Your Favorite Team
Is there any way to reload an old save after you've been traded?
I've been doing this method, following it exactly but I got traded to the Bucks instead of the Bulls.
The Bucks were the second highest team interested in me, the Bulls were at the top.Comment

Re: My Career Method to Being Traded to Your Favorite Team
I was drafted 8th pick to the pistons and just followed through the guide step by step & was traded to the Knicks as my favorite team. I'm a pass first point guard but after a few games of impatience my assists had dropped due to me trying to speed up my trading process (fouling out of games after 10 assists). Thank you for this guide. If the only complaint i had to make would be, it would be just to make it more easier to read for the viewers so you wouldn't have to read in-between the lines. But then again, not everyone has the same experience.Last edited by Biggielee00; 02-22-2014, 12:31 AM.Comment

Re: My Career Method to Being Traded to Your Favorite Team
I'm an idiot and accidentally asked for a trade in January, I said no when he confirms whether or not you want a trade but I think I may have messed up the method. I did get the cutscene from my agent, however I watched a video of someone doing this and his agent cutscene was a little different, not sure if they just have multiple dialogues to keep it from being repetitive.
It has been like 5 games since the agent cutscene (so around 7 since I told the GM to trade my teammate). I did show up in the trade rumours once a game or two ago but I have now disappeared from there. Hopefully it'll still work, although I don't think it will since I got one of those typical GM cutscenes that you get all the time.Comment
