Lol. Nba action was in there as well. Hell, I played the Barkley one, jordan vs. bird, arch rivals, hoops, run n gun at the arcade, and on and on. Which one was the one you could create your own dunk? It had some sort of screen with a graph and stick figure that you could position certain way to create the mid air pose. Anyone remember that?

Just been thinking about these classic teams...

In 2K12, 2K announced the legends teams list in August.
For 2K13 and 14 they announced the classic teams in late September.

Now this has me quite worried about the possibility of having any new classic teams. If you remember, 2K12 was a fantastic game in terms of its legends and hence the early info on these teams, while 2K13 and in particularly 2K14 (we lost the Sac Kings and Dream Team) was disappointing on that front and hence 2K didn't release any information until the very last minute. I know it's not September yet, but just a shade over a month till launch are we heading down the same path as the previous 2 iterations of the game?

What's your thoughts guys? Do we think we will get any new teams?

I'm not sure if anyone is still checking this thread, regardless this idea is a little off topic anyway: (in the sense it would be difficult to add these teams, not easy)

PLEASE ADD ALL OF THE TEAM USA BASKETBALL TEAMS! Imagine how many players would be in 2k if this were a reality. I would definitely play 2k much more often than I currently do if we had all of those historic players. The quality of team up/ quick match/ my team would go up tremendously IMO.

I have very little hope for new classic teams. That was part of my reasoning behind the idea of putting these rosters out there to begin with (again, made up of players already in 2K). I suppose I am just hoping that somehow, someway, the necessary means and resources at 2K could be scrounged up to, say, create some 2000 Raptors court art and add a new team slot for the 2000 Raptors.

It'd be cool to get new classic teams featuring previously absent stars and players not already in 2K. But at the bare minimum, it'd be nice to see some new additions (featuring recycled players) introduced. Even getting some more recent squads with authentic courts (say, the '07 Warriors) would be a wonderful addition (Al Harrington's mo-hawk would be a bonus).

Every USA team seems like it'd be a tough get. I've wondered if there were separate licensing loops to jump through just to include the two USA rosters found in 2K13. In that game, all editing was locked and they were only able to play each other. I don't know if that was a design choice or a requirement. I kind of leaned toward the latter.

I really, really hope we do get new classic teams cause with that addition would be a major relief, but I am getting worried and worried as the days progress as well :-(

I really hope this too!! It would be massively appreciated and hopefully has an effect.

Any extra classic teams would be a bonus... I mean, extra classic teams = extra classic players = potential for user to create even more classic teams and that can only be a good thing right?

Were you able to edit the generic players on classic teams last year? If not, I really hope it's in this year, that's the most important thing to me. That way we can create full teams and not having to look at three Johnson's who get 20+ minutes in a game..

2k is great but it takes them always a few games before giving us control over simple aspects of a game. They already did all they could with 7-10 players per team, why not let us do the rest?? There;s still very good rotation players missing from teams.

Those are all great choices. Though, this particular thread was initially regarding teams who already had at least seven players included in NBA 2K. The thought process behind this idea was, if the inability to sign more classic players is what's standing between us and getting new classics, then perhaps we could just find classic teams featuring players who are already signed.

The 2000 Lakers, for example, already have a nearly full roster's worth of players in 2K somewhere (Kobe, Shaq, A.C. Green, Derek Fisher, Robert Horry, etc.) so really, all that'd be needed for a 2000 Lakers creation would be an authentic court, proper era jerseys, and perhaps some graphical and/or skill related tweaks to certain players (i.e. trading A.C. Green's jheri curl for a fade). On the other hand, the 1994 Warriors team you requested, which I'd love to see, only has two players already included in NBA 2K (Chris Mullin & Avery Johnson).

I do not believe the generic slots could be edited on next-gen 2K14. However, I feel as though there's a good chance this could return this year. 2K15 apparently will feature a robust create-a-player system whereas 2K14 had no create-a-player system. So hopefully, we might be able to create the missing players and assign them as we see fit (as we used to do).

I wonder what 2k does with all the money they get from, not only the sales of the game, but also the unbelievable amount of money they get from VC sales. Maybe they could reward their fans and use that money to get more classic players in the game(Barkley, Miller). Probably won't happen though, they would just like to concentrate on making mascots look more realistic and cheerleaders doing coordinated dance moves....

We should've thought of this idea last October. It would've been perfect if we did. We have got to continue to think of classic teams that they can add without a license restriction for the future.
