1989 New York Knicks - They actually swept the bad boys of Detroit during the regular season. All we need are the shorts with the Yankees logos and the accurate court art.

      Patrick Ewing
      Mark Jackson (2k12 Showcase)
      Kenny "Sky Walker (2k12 Showcase)
      Johnny Newman ( '93 Hornets)
      Charles Oakley
      Kiki Vandewheghe
      Sidney Green ('86 Bulls)
      Pete Myers

Do you think we should focus in on specific years of teams in a given era or just literally list as many squads as possible? Or something in between? As in, do you feel it'd be more effective to pick one Knicks squad from the late 80's, early 90's era (say, the '89 team) or do you feel we should list each team ('88, '89, '90, '91, '92, '93, '94) if they have enough players available?

I say something in between.Continue to list each team but still focus in on specific years of teams in a given era (e.g. 60's,70's,80's,90's,00,etc) plus with accurate and authentic court art/uniforms for the future. We have to continue to apply external pressure toward 2k to add new classics to their franchise. Da_Czar will handle the rest internally.

It's hard to know what to do. I'd wait until the game comes out so we can see what "extra" legends are included in my team, etc. I'm all for helping 2K organize this stuff and I especially applaud your effort as I love the nostalgic vintage NBA, as well. However, it is difficult to do this "legwork" without knowing things on their end:

            1) The true player pool available is a little ambiguous? Are the NBA showcase 2k12 legends still available? Only some? Also as important is learning how hard and expensive it is for them to procure players in general. This is one reason I believe (item #3, below) would help everyone. Player creation and file sharing similar to ProEvo Soccer (or even MLB The Show to a degree) would be epic for historic players, rosters, seasons.

            2) Uniforms and courts. As you have pointed out, many of the uniforms and court designs we would need have not been historically offered in the retail game.

            3) Player creator? Maybe it will be easier to create legends, file share, etc? Haven't heard or learned about that yet (as I'm writing this).

Most of this historic team research could easily be done by someone at 2K using http://www.basketball-reference.com

I am of the opinion that the PC version will be the only way to truly satisfy our desires. After seeing that modded roster of every single historical team from 80's-current (rosters, jerseys, courts, etc); I was truly blown away. If/when that is duplicated on 2k15, it will be special! If that is somehow possible on the PS4 or XBone, even better.

Everything that Rasco just said should definitely be in 2k16

With the inclusion of scans and news of up to 150 caps, this dramatically changes creators abilities to make full season rosters.

Re: Running List of Classic Teams That Could Be Added Featuring Players Already In Ga

I was just watching a YouTube video from one of the Team-Up guys who was talking about the new face scan. However, after I watched the videos below, and someone asked him:

"are there any new legends"... to which the team-up guy (Franchise Play) said "more info on legends will be released soon" and that he can't talk about it yet.

Interesting. Does this mean he knows more than we do with regarding new legends/classic teams in the game?

I know on all previous "leaked" videos they weren't any new ones but maybe they were just beta or alpha versions?

                  Thoughts?

                  Cheers.

I would presume that line was in reference to the new individual legends added to MyTeam mode (like Bob Cousy, Bernard King & Tom Chambers, mentioned earlier). I'm guessing more names will be released and if I were a betting man, I'd say they're likely mostly the same names used in the 2K12 Legends Showcase.

Asterisks (*) represent players whose presence in 2K is uncertain due to whether they're in the free agent pool (or through other means). 2K12 Showcase players could no longer be licensed, but they've been included in case they are. There is also uncertainty as to whether being featured as an assistant coach also means one can be included as a player (ex: Rasheed Wallace).

Further, I have attempted to provide photo examples of the jerseys required for the teams who otherwise do not have their duds already accounted for in 2K (as of 2K14). Please notify me of instances where teams' uniforms are not already accounted for, or cases where I have mistaken them for not already being included.

Edit: Court art reference for each team whose court art is not currently included in 2K can be found at post #79 on page 8.

By all means, contribute your own rosters featuring players already included in 2K.

1989 Knicks would need their uniforms featuring the NY logo on the left short leg.

The '89 Knicks need an accurate court art also. I believe they were still playing in the Madison Square Garden VI in Manhattan from 1986 to 1991.

1992 Portland Trail Blazers - I know the '91 squad is in the game, but I ponder why were the '92 squad (the team that actually reached the finals) omitted from 2k after 2k11?.

                              Clyde Drexler
                              Terry Porter

                              home

                              away

2k definitely need to bring back these unis.
