I think a lot of folks would like a classic Pacers team but it seems pretty apparent that Reggie and 2K are at some sort of impasse.

Separately, the goal of this thread was to try to find some classic squads that would not require too many (if any) additional player licenses. There didn't seem to be a ton of Pacers teams that featured a solid portion of the roster already included in 2K. I guess the '04 club would be in the ballpark, but would still likely fall a bit short. With Panda's Friend signing in China, that'd probably be even one less.

    2004 Pacers
    Jermaine O'Neal
    Ron Artest*
    Al Harrington
    Jamaal Tinsley
    Scot Pollard ('02 Kings)
    Kenny Anderson (2K12 Legends Showcase)
    James Jones

The last three played 32 playoff minutes combined with Jones not even making the playoff roster, so it'd seem to be a pretty splintered squad. Maybe five players and no Reggie Miller is a tough get, though it'd be nice to have another opponent for a hypothetical '04 Pistons inclusion.

Made a thread a while back about this. Considering that Euroleague teams have been confirmed, the possibility of replacing them with classic teams is thrown out the window.

I think if 2k is smart, they should utilize the opportunity of using younger versions of current players while they have their rights! Using younger versions/ prime versions of these players can also benefit myteam mode. 2k recevies loads of money from people who buy VC in order to buy packs and finish collections. Adding more classic teams will only allow them to profit more.

Yes I know everyone wants to see Barkleys Suns and Reggie Millers Pacers but lets be realistic. 2k has probably tried to get their rights but they have too high demands or just don't want to be in a video game.

        A.Wright(FA?)
        J.Collins
        S.Padgett

Some of you might question why I included the Vince Carter Nets and TMac Rockets. I did it so that it could add more players. Tmac's Magic and Carter's Nets dont really have that much good players on their roster and would be a waste.

The only players that I can see asking for a lot of money for their rights are- Yao,A.Walker,Jason Williams, Finley, B.Barry, and Rick Fox. The rest shouldn't be hard

MyTeam has Diamond,Ruby, and Saphire Card players. Next year I am hoping they expand and add MVP Cards or Prime versions of the following players:

        Steve Nash
        Kobe Bryant
        Dirk Nowitzki
        Tracy McGrady
        Chauncey Billups
        Vince Carter
        Ray Allen
        Paul Pierce
        Tim Duncan
        Jason Kidd

What do you think? What teams would you add?

Good stuff. I added the '06 Nets and '09 Cavaliers to the list ('09 was more successful and had nearly as many available players). I'm definitely partial to those Nets, they were a fun squad and more classic Vince Carter & Jason Kidd is never a bad idea in my book.

Being realistic, how many extra classic teams will we get? I know it was mentioned on the myleague interview you could use classics...

Ideally it would be amazing to have some more 2000's teams to allow us to relive old 2k games, just with way improved graphics.

My personal preference would be 04 Pistons and 08 Celtics.

Leftos, Simballer, LD2K - if any of you could give an indication if there are any new classics (I'm not bothered about which specifically) it would be appreciated!!

            Thanks.

Respectfully, any particular reason for the varying versions of teams already in 2K? For instance, what made you throw out the '93 Rockets when their '94 club is included and their '95 club was a champion-winning team?

The reason I threw out the '93 Rockets is because they won 55 games, won their division, they finished 3rd overall in defense (when they won the title they finished 5th), Hakeem won DPOY, 2nd in MVP voting, and they went the distance with a very young, talented and raw Seattle Supersonics team. Plus when they swept my Bulls during the regular season, Jordan admitted that they had no answer for Olajuwon. Idk this team just look fun to play base off their roster.

Yeah, no disrespect to the Suns, but that was the team that I feared the most coming out of the west. Plus that '93 Finals would've been epic if we did faced them.

If Barkley isn't possible, can I get a Suns team with Tom Chambers and KJ?

The reason why I threw out the '95 Jazz is because they won 60 games with a younger version of Malone and Stockton who were in their primes, the makeup of their roster and I loved that floor. The reason why I threw out the '91 Hawks is because of the makeup of their roster. Just look fun to play with and against. Plus Dominique was still in his prime.

Good stuff. I didn't mean to give you a hard time or anything. I was just trying to gauge those clubs because they're so similar to teams already included. For instance, the only real difference I see between the '94 Rockets and '93 Rockets is trading out Winston Garland & Sleepy Floyd for Sam Cassell. Most of the rest of the roster, alongside the jerseys and the court, remained the same.

I had similar thoughts regarding the '91 Hawks. Much of that team is available in the form of the late 80's squad already included, only everyone's a little further out of their prime by '91 (espcially Sidney Moncrief). And again, most everything else remained the same (jerseys and court).

On the other hand, as similar as that '95 Jazz team looks in comparison to the finalist clubs (Tom Chambers seems to be the only difference), they'd at least require different jerseys and a new court (the '95 Delta Center rendition), so there'd be a freshness there.

I think I'm just trying to find the line between what we may able to do ourselves versus what would be very beneficial for 2K to include for us (hypothetically). That is, if we wanted a downgraded '91 Hawks club, couldn't we pull that off very effectively ourselves? In contrast, even if all players were already included, we couldn't really make our own '07 Warriors club, as they have no court that'd fit, amongst other details.

I agree. We can create some classic teams to a certain extent due to players/arenas already in the game, however ones like the 07 warriors would be really difficult to accurately recreate. Similarly any of the J Kidd nets would be difficult to recreate and have that authentic feel that most of the 2K legend teams has. I guess a lot of it is down to having the correct license.

I am hoping they do add some more classic teams, just to give us extra players to create other teams as we desire, but one thing I hope that 2K include is player portraits for every classic player. Not having a portrait for Alonzo Mourning or Larry Johnson ruins the authenticity and effect if you are using the classic Hornets team in association, or soon to be MyLeague. This is the case for most legend teams and surely it wouldn't be too difficult to add as they would already have the players license?
