I ask because I just want to see the adjustments that are made/not made. Just curious.

Tweet me when you go hot so I can check it out if I have any takers. I could also play a game as well if you want.

    Good idea,

I say we do a community experiment.

Get 3 folks experiencing this frequently (preferably the ones saying it's an every game occurrence), and 3 folks not experiencing this and broadcast some games. Same team, same difficulty/settings. Better than going back and forth about it...

Don't really see it this year though, one thing I will tell you is that the CPU always adjusts to your POE In the second half....

It's scripted in that it wants you to play a certain way. I can't speak to online quick match, but offline almost always it will give you a chance to win. You might have to play perfect, but it will. Basically, you have to deal with the bs run the computer gives you and then it gives you a stretch where you can score.

Momentum shifts based on bad plays, or what the computer percieves as a bad play, like jacking a three. Momentum shifts just cause. There is a swing of momentum that is outside of the effect of the player, is what I believe, and there is 4th quarter fatigue. So I'd say it's more that the game changes in the 4th. However, it is true that momentum will kill you for no reason other than just A. The game wants it to shift randomly or B. You offended the game in some way.

So you think when runs happen in the NBA that team HAD to have changed something? Not always the case. not only that but we arnt real coaches ,gms. Majority of people who play change **** to change **** they don't know when or why or what to change.

You don't need to change something to get a run going. sometimes it can just happen. One guy gets hot and it rubs off. It's realism.

at the end of the day this Is a video game. Not real life. It's not gunna be even close to perfect or what everyone wants. Not everyone sees the game the same. You, i, the guy 300 miles away all have different opinions a
nd preferences. And their idea of a perfect game.

And well, obviously if they don't go on a run and catch up you won't complain. You'll be winning lol.

I would complain. If I'm using the 76ers and someone is using the Warriors and I'm beatng them by 20 simply because I know what to tweak. Obviously that means im better at the game but why would I want it to be that easy against a team that should win 9/10 times. Would that happen in real life? No. This game can't be 100% realistic. Accept it

Well, if your opponent sucks, then you opponent sucks. If he can't win with the Warriors, then that's on him and that's how it SHOULD be. If I'm better than you, then I should be able to sit comfortably and whup your *ss and not worry about you coming back on me if you don't adjust your gameplan. I should NEVER have to worry about some "magical" comeback that will ultimately happen at some point in the game.

I want to be able to play any opponent online and be confident in my stick skills no matter what team you choose. I have played games in past 2K games to know that my stick skills have always been on point. I can't think of a single year where I didn't have a winning percentage above 63%. In NBA 2K11, I was won 73% of my games online. NBA 2K12 going forward, I have been hovering slight above %55, and this is the first year that I ever had a losing record. The scary part, I've been using Indiana who's arguably has been a historically great DEFENSIVE team for the past 2-3 years, and I can't do nothing with them when it comes to shutting down the offense. Worse still..I do more complaining about the GAME being the reason for my losses, than my actual opponent using "cheesy" tactics in an effort to beat me. Minus the zig zag exploit, what have been the major exploits in online games?

I'm at a point with this game online that in my mind, people with losing records are just as troublesome and a challenge as someone with a winning record.

Going to take the initiative and post the 'challenge' settings. Before you start your stream, go to your twitch settings and ensure you've clicked to have your streams archived. Once you've played your game just link the stream in here for us to see - the entire stream not just a clip that justifies the side of this argument you fall on. I'm using today's NBA Today Matchup of the Cavs and Spurs.

              My team: Cavs
              AI team: Spurs
              Difficulty: Superstar/Sim
Quarter Length: 12 minutes (If we're sim guys then I assume we all play this length to fully justify our arguments)

Picked that matchup because of the popularity of Cleveland and the Spurs adjust to whatever you doing so well. They can kill you inside and out as well as containing Tony Parker is a pain.

Okay, here are some examples. First two games were when I had no suspiction about "momentums". It were regular season games against my long time rival

I led the whole game just to find that I couldn't hit anything in the 4th quarter.

+8 in the first half turned into 9-21 blowout in the 3rd quarter

Then I found these thread and, being aware of the "momentum" thing, started playoff series against the same opponent:
                    game 1 - https://youtu.be/X9XNta6bWdw
In the third quarter I had to play against the game not the opponent to not fall into a bigger slump
                    game 3 - https://youtu.be/Dh8RILse06w
I took the lead from the beginning and again had to change my winning strategy to a "not lose due to momentum" tactics in the 3rd quarter.

And one example where I didn't notice any "momentum"
                    game 4 - https://youtu.be/7R9-koFsglQ
I was trailing up to the 4th quarter where, I believe, my own actions allowed me to catch up, get the lead and eventually win the game and the series.

If thats where you see the issue, go ahead, I'll watch. I always assumed that mode was scripted anyway so I can almost believe a crazy run in that.

OAN, here's my game with the Spurs/Cavs: http://www.twitch.tv/jerzeyreign/b/636013636

In the 3rd quarter you can see all the adjustments I made (auto'd the first half) and in the 4th my only adjustment was putting Lebron on Parker.

Third quarter begins around the 34 minute mark.

Just played a game went into the 3rd DOWN 12, went into the 4th UP 11, lost the lead halfway through the 4th, made the proper adjustments and came back to win in the end. Idk if some of you just need to get a good slider set or if some of you just need to get better at the game, yes the game has momentum swings, no they are not "impossible" to stop...this was on Superstar btw.

EDIT:My bad missed the whole point of the post, anyways I recorded the entire thing and I'm going to post the ending of it for you...there was sloppy passing and turnovers by both teams.

I don't think anyone has a complaint that momentum is in the game, the complaint is that the game gives momentum undeservingly. If you're down and work hard to chip away at a lead... yes you should get some momentum, not be given it just because you're down 10 going into the 3rd.

Guys it doesn't exist. But if you didn't rest your guys adequately in the first half they fatigue quicker in the 2nd and there is always shot fatigue so that may be what you guys are really experiencing. Try to rest your guys more especially in 2nd quarter and don't take 20 shots with a role player, generally. But the momentum doesn't exist. They had clutch factor years ago and its GONE.

I tend to play the whole 2nd quarter with my bench lineup and still in the 3rd quarter my starters would suddenly miss open shots and layups and the opponent who played half of the 2nd qtr with his starters will drain contested threes, layups, dunks. From my perspective "hidden momentum" exists.
