Re: Will MJ actually look like MJ this year?

I have just bought the game and for me there is no reason to play with legends.
Lightning is dark, not as good as the rest of the game, and presentation does not compare to the games of today's teams.
Legends like Dennis Johnson and Mark Aguirre have legs darker than their arms and heads.
The 70's Atlanta team barely has any players. The 85 Sixers are not in the game anymore.
Last gen they were so much better.
And who cares about Jordan's animations when there are so many more issues that affect the game so much more.
I'm just playing with today's teams.

Better than nothing. I'm never going to jump into a slow motion replay and zoom in on his face mid game.. so works for me!

Easily. I noticed it on a replay, so went into replay mode. Thought it was a "different" way to achieve the tongue.

They need to address player bodies a bit. Patrick Ewing's arms look too short.

Re: Will MJ actually look like MJ this year?

Finally had the opportunity to upgrade to next gen, so I'm digging into my first 2K since 2K13. I've been following classic teams here in the meantime so I sort of knew what was coming but man, it's kind of startling to see what a few of these teams look like in comparison to 2K12.

Probably preaching to the choir but I worked on the 1989 Pistons and Bulls today and it was kind of depressing. The uniforms look painted on and ill-fitting. Pretty sure the '89 Pistons uni still has design issues. 1989 Horace Grant—who wasn't wearing goggles in real life at that point—is not only wearing goggles but they're also the Magic blue version.

It mostly just feels like the opposite of what 2K12 was bringing to the table with the 90's and 80's classics when it came to detail. '89 Corzine has a full beard instead of a mustache, Will Perdue randomly has a profile picture of what appears to be a younger Milwaukee Bucks version of Charles Davis, so on and so forth.

The biggest bummer may be watching these two teams in action. Both The Palace and Chicago Stadium are incredibly dark, to where you can barely see a few rows of fans. I didn't realize something like that could be so immersion-breaking yet here we are. On first playthrough it feels as though both teams were playing through a brownout.

The good news is the 2000's classics seem to be way closer to typical 2K quality. Arena lighting seemed a little better I think, faces are generally better, and the squads tend to look sharper all around. I think the 2003 Mavericks may have the wrong road jerseys though so that's weird. Otherwise, I might have to just focus on the 2000's teams this year (in addition to currents).

classic teams are a mess and a big disappointment out of the box... i feel bad for you guys on console. with the proper work through modding and editing, they're incredible.

A little random but, here's a stellar tutorial on how to make Joe Dumars look human.

                    2K's versions:

I posted on another thread how I felt maybe 2k is trying to cram too many features & modes into the game. I just don't think they resources to give every feature the proper attention.

Just realized the current Pistons have 1989 jersey alternates in 2K17 and they're just about perfect. Encouraging but a touch frustrating knowing the actual classic 1989 Pistons in 2K are rocking these:

The alternates have everything corrected (color, "PISTONS" instead of "DETROIT", proper trim) but just have the NBA logo on the back instead of front left breast. It'd be top notch if 2K could modify those unis with the proper logo (and short shorts) and apply them to the '89 squad. I know it's not that easy but, a man can wish.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction for tutorials of how to make some standard retro shoes, like the Adidas Pro Model or some standard early 90's Nikes?
