Hopefully they gave horace grant his proper eyegogges for each of his versions. They had it correct in last gen.

But I think there were some ok ones if I recall correctly (from previous threads).

All 2K would need to have done in this case (which is still possible - albeit probably unlikely) is nail the signature aspect......

        A glimmer of hope?
2K16 PC actually did get some good mods for MJ's face but not much else. The game solely being on Steam pretty much killed roster mods for 2K since the game has to sync with Steam at start up...

Probably not the right thread but as it relates to classic Jordan as well, I just asked Mike Wang if the classic players will have signature animations for the new post up game. His response was positive in the fact that there are new animations blended with some sigs and that you will feel the difference with Shaq, etc. Down low.. Not to mention new dunk animations down there too. Hopefully when Jordan posts up, it will feel like Jordan. Fingers crossed.

Man I wish we could get someone from 2k art department to chime in and reply to this thread. Actually anyone from 2k would be nice.

It's obvious a lot of people care about the legends from how long this thread has gone on and the amount of replies it has gotten. To just totally ignore the greatest basketball player of all time on a next gen console on top of it all is pretty sad.

In 2k11 they had him down pat with his likeness and signature moves. Why 6 years later on a much more powerful system he can't be equal if not better than that makes absolutely no sense to me.

Devs have other priorities now. That's why.

In that Raptors @ Bulls vid yesterday I noticed MJ scored once (layup) and it looked somewhat signature (I think).

But bear in mind, I didn't use the Bulls at all - haven't since last gen.

Still, didn't hate it. Just dunno if its new etc.

True, but by having other priorities (Online, Park, Mycareer), they shun a large portion of the 2k community by not spending equal time on the other modes/features that are widely enjoyed.

I realize that most folk only care about online stuff, which is fine, I get it, but they should at least understand that there are plenty of folk who play the game outside of online matches who'd like to see other things worked on.

The legends have been nerfed since we moved onto this generation of consoles - granted, they were kind enough to expand them last year (?) but as far as visuals go (Players/arenas/shoes) and signature elements, they've got worse every year. Removing players. Removing teams. Removing signature moves. Losing authentic arena sounds - all things that were present last gen.

Seeings we're on more powerful machines, there's more disc space and more opportunity for improvement, I'm not surprised as consumers that we've got something to be critical about.

As mentioned above, for a thread this large and that has continued for so long, knowing Devs DO follow some of the stuff here, it's quite telling that they haven't addressed this stuff. Says a lot in regards to the legends aspect of the game - it's clearly just small fry stuff for 2k, which is sad considering it has quite a large following.

I won't be deterred though - I'll be right back here, or in a new thread for 2k18, trying to push for there to be improvements for the classic teams all over again. Probably wasting my time, but you gotta try, right?

                      Right beside you bud.

Definitely got to try. If we (as a community) didn't try - constructively of course - then the game would never improve to us (the consumer).

It upsets me when you have your hopes up for something only to find out "not this year" and you've got another dev cycle to MAYBE get what you want.

Another example of this (off topic) for me is I've been waiting desperately for a new signature package for Russell Westbrook. And I've heard that didn't get touched on again this year...... so I totally get the disappointment in this regard.

But I digress..... we definitely have to keep trying. And I have the utmost respect for you fellas who so such resilience with this sort of stuff.

I hear you man. It gets harder as the years go on and you feel like your words are falling of deaf ears, especially when you see all other facets of the game improved or worked on.

Just gotta keep plugging away and hope that someone from 2k's team finally takes notice.

(Westbrook lacking in sig animations then? I can't really tell as I don't watch the current NBA to compare - I'm still stuck watching repeats of 80's/90's hoops )

Man you're a true old school purist. And I LOVE 90s hoops man. I just kept on following aswell.

Westbrook has signature stuff, but things like his J, free throw some of the dribbles are just no good IMO.

I actually used his layup package for a few of the legends as there's simply not enough variety for them - wanted to mix it up a bit. Stole some of the other packages from today's stars for the same reason.

Yeah, heh, stuck in my ways brother. Absolutely loved the 80's and DEFINITELY the 90's NBA. The Jordan era was something to behold.
Kinda fell out of touch with it after Mike retired, clung on until about 2005/6 when my Suns were peaking - haven't watched much of it since then.

Someone mentioned Webber is in 2k17 as part of the broadcast team, makes me wonder if we'll be getting the Kings back in the game, be a nice replacement as the '85 76ers have been removed....

Dave....have you seen the Kicks trailer? The Jordan's look great and unless it was just for the trailer looks like era specific filters for broadcasts are back! Also they added the Converse Weapons. In addition the legends they showed looked pretty good. Ewing definitely was upgraded for example.
