Re: Will MJ actually look like MJ this year?
Last year the 2K16 scoreboard stayed untouched from 2K15. A LOT of people complained. And a LOT of people said "its just a ****ING scoreboard".
When things like MyTeam cards get a new design and Michael FREAKING Jordan still looks like a character from Forrest Gump, one can't help but wonder if there's a small priority issue.
Of course, MyTeam cards may be a fast fix, but this is an example. And I am sure there may be more - heck, this year, the SCOREBOARD got an update haha.
I just wanna ball with MJ and co. with a smile on my face like its 2K11/12 again.
He is the greatest to ever play. Come on man....

Spoiler
Below seems like a good time for one of these......small detail, but telling IMO. Tongue out seems fairly trademark/significant to me. We can say something about gen 3 muscle def aswell but let's not go there....Attached FilesComment

Re: Will MJ actually look like MJ this year?
I'm at the point now where I'm simply struggling to comprehend the choices the art team has made.
The whole 'Oh, let's update a role player like Steve Kerr, yet leave out the Greatest player of all time, despite the fact our consumers have been pleading for us to 'fix' MJ for the last 3 years on current gen........'
As you said, It's looking like a priorities thing.
Man, if 2k11 didn't look so dated and had better mechanics, I'd just go back and play that instead.
Anyhow, I'll be picking up 2k17 on release day - I'll get some legends screens up here soon as possible so we can all marvel at their accuracy......-----------------------------------------

Re: Will MJ actually look like MJ this year?
At this very minute I'm clinging to the hope there was a complete signature style overhaul over at 2K.
From a broadcast cam I can live with the poor cyberface if he's out there ballin like MJ - fade aways, stutters, jumpshot, free throw, jabs etc.
All I got for 2K17.
Now we need to work on 2K18......Comment

Re: Will MJ actually look like MJ this year?
One of the things that really surprised and impressed me about 2k16 was the facial animations for every player in the game during game play. When 2k11 came out I was in awe that they were able to animate Jordan chewing gum on the court, sticking his tongue out and also yelling and screaming. It was impressive. In 2k16 they took things a step further. They animated "dunk faces" for LeBron for example. LeBron has a tendency to make this specific face when he's dunking or concentrating, and it was animated into 2k16. As well as muscles flexing during game play and celebrations as well as animated mouth guards. I'm hoping they haven't removed any of these animations as they add to signature style and overall immersion. As far as the legends go, it would be nice to see that same level of detail applied to their facial expressions and animations.Comment

Re: Will MJ actually look like MJ this year?
I keep pushing it...but it never gets fixed for some reason.
Will they ever notice the signature (yes, it should be a signature thing by now) stretched left hand?
By the way, while he was wearing those AJ6's (early in the 1991-92 season, until the 7's were released) he wasn't wearing the calf sleeve for a while...not sure why. But it was there again later. And if they do put the calf sleeve on him, here is an early 90's shot, to show the proper length and distance from sock back then:

Re: Will MJ actually look like MJ this year?
I have pretty bad memories of Steve Kerr from last year. I swear his hair looked ridiculous; will have to look back. He looks pretty sharp now.
Edit: Found a shot for comparison. Outstanding upgrade. Hopefully a sign of some other improvements.
2K16:
2K17:
Also, not a bad MJ from this quick angle.
I can't believe how bad Steve Kerr looked last year. Great to see an upgrade though. Knew they were capable of so much better.
Wow, Kerr finally looks great.
Now why can't 2K do that to ALL Legends?"I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying."

And I hate how they give 1989 Bulls Grant goggles. Horace didn't start wearing goggles until the 1990-1991 season."I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying."
