People are talking about "installation." For some reason, the smaller files 2.2gb and 4.6gb downloaded required me to hit "install."

The largest file only shows "application data downloaded." Do I still need to install the file?

I'm guessing I still need to install the game, but there is no option to proceed with the installation. Clicking on the icon gives ("application data downloaded") brings me to a new screen showing the time remaining .... "playable in ..."

you still might have more download to go

settings > system storage management > applications > nba 2k16

you can check on its download progress here

I too have done all this, and I have a 200mb/s line. I've been stuck at 1% for over 30mins on one occasion and stuck at 5% for over 30mins on another. This doesn't seem to bode well for hopes of stable online play to me.

Maybe they're trolling idk. i just digitally downloaded a game a few days ago and it only took about a half hour. its not us its 2K. Their servers suck. I just hope lag won't be an issue once everyone actually starts playing. I started at 9 pm est last night now i'm at 60% and its 5 pm the next day. Its like downloading all three lord of the rings movies with old school dial up internet.

I followed your steps and have the following. Come 9:00 pm today, would I still need to "install" the game OR can I simply start playing the full game? What's confusing me is that I needed to install the smaller 2.2gb and 4.6gb files. I would assume I would also need to "install" the larger real game file. Is that correct? If so, I was hoping to install it before 9:00 pm.

Don't even waste your time trying to clear cache on Xbox it won't work.

I called microsoft and they rep said it was something on thier side with the servers. He told me once it hits 12 o'clock the download should go back to normal well I'm going to save my little 20% I got right now until midnight

got some updated information from 2k Support here is what it states

" I'm sorry to hear about the issues you having getting NBA 2K16 ready to play. In fact the message you're seeing when you check the version ; (32DA70E1-497D-490C-981F-C27F0.... etc ); is in face an error message. Rest assured if you have installed the Day 1 patch ( from my perspective i have no idea what this patch is or was ) then your game should be up to date. If your having troubles downloading the patch normally a cache clear should fix this....

So from my under standing it looks like when you click the RT+LT and the view button the number displayed at the top is just an error code and if your game actually does install then it will be ( hopefully ) the correct version.

No 1 has spoken about them having "NBA 2k16 1.0..." all this is bull****. This many people and not 1 has spoken about them having that code. I'm staying put and I bet it goes to that once they unlock the game tonight. Even the ppl who did reinstall when they already had it installed went to that same errorcode.

I started my installation on Monday at like 2 AM (pacific) and it took 48 hours.

I re-downloaded around 11am ET today. turned off my xbox around noon when it was at 5%. I just turned my xbox on and it was at 6%. Five minutes later, it goes to 16%. So I was feeling pretty good about that. But now, it's been stuck on 16% for probably 20minutes.

I have no idea what to do.

EDIT: When mine was stuck on 16% I turned off my xbox for probably a minute. Turned it back on and 30 minutes later I'm at 88%
