That is the EXACT same chant from 2K16 for the Spurs. I'm hoping it's an aberration based on a small sample size, but the fact that there's been no official 2K gameplay and most of the leaked footage is soundless doesn't give one confidence.

Until we get sort of explanation from 2K in the form of a blog, a response, or legitimate-official gameplay footage, we have every right to question their authenticity about that the supposed "Arena Authenticity."

This needed to be said. That trailer was terrible. Hell, we can even argue that the audio has regressed from last gen when we had the capability to add custom audio.

The arena chant go spurs go is the Exact same one from past 2k's

Meaning if they went to the AT&T Center they didn't record authentic crowds/chants if that's there because it's not even what they chant.

This is the first time hearing in game sound and nothing has changed literally. Now im wondering about the rest.

So do you think that 2k didnt actually go to the arena? Or they just didnt record anything?

I'm hoping that there is more to it than what's shown. That's the same as the past few years. I'm not an audiophile, but they need to work on it for the immersion factor.

....but what im seeing and hearing isn't what happens in the arena

If they want me to believe otherwise, then show me that, but from what I see it's the exact same thing that needed to be scrapped because its fake.

Same as that beat playing at the beginning of the trailer. Nobody uses that but it's an in game arena music beat that plays in the game.


What im asking is, where is that authentic audio. I heard ball bounces and shot clocks but nothing else, and I mean literally nothing else shows me anything different.

If they put in the hard work I want to see/hear it because 2k has been due for an audio upgrade for a long time.

The paranoid, conspiracy-theorist side of me agrees with you. We've all watched games get hyped, get customers excited, and then completely miss.

But Mike Wang's presence in the Gamplay Blog thread and all the questions he answered has assured me some.

Still, the complete misdirection (or misinformation), lack of communication by marketing, and silence on multiple fronts doesn't do the game any good. Someone on the marketing side needs to get their act together and start communicating with their customers.

The 2k bashing is getting old now. I think everyone knows by now that you're not happy. Maybe give them a chance considering the game isn't even released yet?

I'm not going to flip out over a 1 minute clip, you know? My biggest concern wasnt the chants anyway. It was the crowd. As long as the crowd reacts when and how they should...I'm good.

I thought Live was better but didnt get it completely right either. It wont be perfect until they add custom sounds back in anyway.

LD2K is involved with marketing, not the person implementing ANY advancement.

He's a messenger that probably has strict orders on how and what he can say. Why call him out? If anything, you are looking for someone in the audio department.

With that being said I doubt the crowd is where we want it this year. If so, I'd imagine it would be one of the first things they talked about in the trailer.

Its a new approach in my opinion. They are releasing 7 trailers and 2-3 blogs over the next 7 days. That is actually the opposite of hiding information. If those trailers suck, it could directly affect sales more than if they released them slowly over the last month or so.

That little clip didn't sound much different from 2k16. I do believe 2k went and recorded all the stadiums. Problem is did they actually put this stuff in the game with such a short dev cycle.

My guess is that we should have something better for 2k18..
