LD2K is involved with marketing, not the person implementing ANY advancement.

He's a messenger that probably has strict orders on how and what he can say. Why call him out? If anything, you are looking for someone in the audio department.

With that being said I doubt the crowd is where we want it this year. If so, I'd imagine it would be one of the first things they talked about in the trailer.

I'm not calling him out, but he's the one who comes here to relay info, even pass info on.

The trailer was shown by marketing... and i just want to know if some of those actual arena chants and sounds are there... its like


a follow up to a trailer they've shown. Kinda how Mike answered questions after people read his blog



Anyway, If one fake sound is still the default then why should I believe its not that way for the rest?

Its a new approach in my opinion. They are releasing 7 trailers and 2-3 blogs over the next 7 days. That is actually the opposite of hiding information. If those trailers suck, it could directly affect sales more than if they released them slowly over the last month or so.

IF it's a new approach, it seems counter-intuitive from where I'm sitting. If I did this with my customers (and I work as a database builder/manager, while also providing website design and management services), they'd be FURIOUS.

I've been taught to operate in as straight-forward a manner as I can with the people I work for. Personally, I consider it a good policy.

Maybe it's different when you're marketing a game with as many customers as 2K, but it would seem to me that if you can be clear, concise, and straight-forward with your customers, you should do so.

Instead, 2K's marketing approach this year seems to be about generating "Buzz" and leaving the pertinent information as scarce as possible prior to release. If they end up flooding us with info over the course of the next seven days, that will mitigate some of it but nowhere close to all of it.

Perplexing.

If you're going to go to the AT&T center, you would think 'Go Spurs Go' would be one of the first things you capture.

At the very LEAST, make sure the drum beat in between chants and cadence is accurate...could have maybe gotten away with it.

I'd take that over the ball sounds and horns.

That little clip didn't sound much different from 2k16. I do believe 2k went and recorded all the stadiums. Problem is did they actually put this stuff in the game with such a short dev cycle.

My guess is that we should have something better for 2k18..

I don't think they'd release a trailer promoting the fact that they did this coinciding with NBA 2k17 promotion and not put it in the game. That would be false advertising.

The 2k bashing is getting old now. I think everyone knows by now that you're not happy. Maybe give them a chance considering the game isn't even released yet?

I've been waiting the past week to have some news that gets me hyped to purchase this game and there really isn't any.

- No ability to import custom sounds like we could in old gen games. This just baffles me.
- The audio 2K has looks like it's going to suck again.
- Online MyLeague once again won't be like Offline.
- MyCareer is still a ****ty e-sports money focused mode.

There's no way I can spin any of that news to make myself feel good about 2K17.

then i would suggest you skip the game sir and save yourself some disappointment and frustration. everyone IS entitled to their own opinion but why cause yourself stress - just dont buy it and hope they improve what you want next year?

That said, unless I hear it myself i don't see the reason for the trailer telling me it's authentic when it's not.

I'm a former admin of this site who has been a member for almost 15 years. So I'm a little familiar with the terms of service of this site and what constitutes constructive posting.

Also, I've made several comments about this game regarding the sound that make it clear that I dont think this game is perfect. I just dont agree with most of what you think about the game and I've noticed that many of your posts are borderline trolling.

Straight forward to me is having all the information before you have to make a decision on a purchase.

Everyone will have all of the information they need to determine if the should make a purchase by next week.....when they can purchase the game.

On a technical level, they're doing that -- yes. They will have the information prior to release.

Considering 2K is actively incentivizing their customers to pre-order the game with an early release weekend, yet hasn't released official gameplay footage, it feels like they're trying to get our pre-order FIRST before giving us any information to make an informed decision on.

If 2K didn't have an early-release weekend and there were no pre-order bonuses, I wouldn't be nearly as concerned or miffed, frankly. But since they're trying to get us to pre-order and trying to make us commit to the game before giving us crucial information (AKA, seeing how the game performs for a full quarter of gameplay), giving their customers a steady stream of information seems -- to me -- the best course.

Instead, they're sitting on information with nine days to go and it feels like they're trying to force me into a blind purchase. From my standpoint as a customer, I feel like I'm being manipulated into making a buy without reliable information and tangible evidence that the things that were promised to us were actually delivered on.
