That's how it is for the Steve Smith as well... I saw it in a stream. The third commentator does have his own segments but the majority is cut and paste.Comment

For me as long as there is some improvement I'm happy. 2k can't fix everything one year of development and I think you guys need to get realistic. I'm sure their will be further advancements in the next year.Comment

I dont know if I agree. What info do you need at this point to make a decision by next Thursday? You will likely have a full quarter of gameplay before release day. Either from 2k or someone else. ****, some of the leaks have minutes of gameplay in it.
Beluba did a gameplay blog. There is a My Career trailer. My League info has been out for months. They just released a sound trailer. I read 6-8 different articles about the game last week....and they are releasing a free mode on Friday where you can play some of the game.
The only people who dont have all of the info are people who are obsessed with My Park and thats coming next week.
This purchase isnt blind. There is plenty of info out here to make a decision.
Yes, we've been given plenty of readable information via blogs, Mike Wang's champion Q and A thread, and interviews/articles scattered across multiple sites.
But we haven't seen it in-game and that's the most important aspect of this -- how it performs in-game. A video game isn't judged on what's written about it, it's judged on how it plays and right now we're bereft on reliable gameplay footage, complete with in-game audio, commentary, menus, etc.
If 2K released a gameplay video today, totaling about 15-16 minutes long showing the main menu, how a person navigates to Play Now, fast-forwarding through to the tip-off, playing the entire first quarter -- complete with timeouts, substitutions, in-game audio only (no commentary track over the video itself but just the straight game footage), an example of the new injury system at work, how the AI responds on defense as the quarter progresses (teammate and opposing CPU), and how the arena sounds as you progress through the quarter, that would address a lot of concerns.
But we don't have that. We have promises. We have words. We have trailers (most of which lack any actual information that wasn't already referenced in another trailer).
Nine days before release and I don't how a quarter of the game plays and what it sounds like. It's not as though there are other options out there other than 2K till early 2017 (assuming Live actually makes it). 2K is the ONLY option if you want current players, rosters, uniforms, and art work in a video game form. They have a monopoly on this for the moment, I get that, but they've provided little proof of the things they've claimed to fix/improve/upgraded.Last edited by trekfan; 09-07-2016, 11:43 AM.Comment

Audio has been broken since 2K10. It's pretty annoying and maddening for them to come out and claim they've replicated each arena, and it looks likely that's not the case.Comment

I feel the same exact way, no real gameplay videos is very scary... they're releasing "tidbits" of info but nothing really related to game play.
All these "changes" yet nothing has seemed to change... (YET).
I'm following and 2k and Ronnie on Twitter..honestly.. seems like everyone is hyping this game and celebrating ...how amazing it is without actual gameplay.
Really all that excitement for Michael B. Jordan? Why spend all that time and money.. on something we will just bypass after a few times of seeing it.
Oh and no offense to Michael B. Jordan.. sure he plays his part fine.. but didn't we see this last year with SPIKE LEE.. and how did that turn out?
I hope and pray all these changes didn't break the gameplay.... didn't need "much" to make it great...Comment

Re: MY God please tell me this isn't all they have to offer with the new audio
The ball sounds are definitely new. It hits the rim sounds different and bounces different than before. I will give 2K credit for that. It actually sounds like you are in the arena for that.
The rest is meh. I don't see why you would go to the games/arenas and not record actual audio from the teams all new team specific chants. Even if you had audio from say years ago wouldn't it be time to update it to the latest HD sound quality?
You can't have wrong team specific chants in the game selling many million copies. It looks bad and don't claim authenticity in a trailer.
Me personally I am more concerned with crowd reactions to big baskets and turnovers not just when the score happens.Comment

Re: MY God please tell me this isn't all they have to offer with the new audio
Trying to tell y'all. It takes 2K like 2 to 3 years to nail a new feature. When they start implementing something that first iteration of it is always lacking in areas and they build on the groundwork that's been laid from that. The most important part of this whole atmosphere discussion is that they've finally started working on it. There was a point where it didn't seem like they were EVER going to improve them audio because they kept just leaving things completely untouched year after year. Now like Association/MyGM/MyLeague, shoes last year and now this year, etc. it's on the table and they're actively working on it. There'll be a bunch of problems this year as we're slowly seeing still but I think we'll be seeing this fleshed out and much improved next year.Comment

Who says they didn't though? We haven't seen full gameplay and heard all the sounds. Beyond that, with the short turnaround on dev time, who's to say that they didn't run into some kind of technical issue that made them pull sounds that didn't work right or didn't sound as good as anticipated when they actually got it back to the studio and put it to gameplay? It doesn't necessarily have to boil down to "they didn't bother with it."Comment

Re: MY God please tell me this isn't all they have to offer with the new audio
I preordered the game 85% because of how 2k said they went to every single team's arena and captured crowd noises, arena and equipment sounds, that were unique to each arena.
It sounds to me from the few clips that I've heard that there is virtually no difference. Even the trailer they put out didn't sell me on any changes. Everything sounds like what has been in the game already since 2k14.Comment

How someone decides to preorder a game because of a Go Spurs Go chant is mind boggling.
