....but what im seeing and hearing isn't what happens in the arena

If they want me to believe otherwise, then show me that, but from what I see it's the exact same thing that needed to be scrapped because its fake.

Same as that beat playing at the beginning of the trailer. Nobody uses that but it's an in game arena music beat that plays in the game.


What im asking is, where is that authentic audio. I heard ball bounces and shot clocks but nothing else, and I mean literally nothing else shows me anything different.

If they put in the hard work I want to see/hear it because 2k has been due for an audio upgrade for a long time.

I think 2K is just a bit deceptive with their advertising. Like they say things like "authentic arena audio" so our imagination and expectations run wild. Our thinking is "when I play at arena X it will sound exactly like watching a game on tv or being at the arena." However what they mean as "authentic audio" is not the same as what we expect. They can turn around and say "we never said that crowds will be 100% authentic and accurate we just said we recorded crowds in arenas."

So it's very possible that there are audio clips from live crowds in the game but not every audio clip that plays during a game is from a live authentic crowd.

Sorry if this comes off as confusing.

It's already bad and the game hasn't even dropped yet, I'll stop in here for some news and such, check out some of the good regular poster's comments, and then I'm out and on to enjoy the game for the rest of the year.

I think people need to calm down. I love the 2K series as much as anyone and only want the best from it, but i think more people need to realize that this is just a game at the end of the day. These devs teams and marketing teams, all of the moving parts that make up the game we love to play are just people. They make mistakes just like you and I. People take this stuff way too seriously. 60 bucks doesn't pay for price of acting an ***.

Highly doubt 2K is going to release an unfinished product.

I'm not saying it's unfinished, people have the game now and are clearly able to play and enjoy the game, but let's face it day one patches are all but standard these days and there are cases where a day 1 patch has a significant effect on the product.

Like I said there are people that had the game 2 weeks ago which would mean the game was "finished" nearly a month before release. You don't think there is a chance that there is some content they couldn't get into the game before it was manufactured?

Man I'm with you on that. I come on these boards and see complaints for things that I never even noticed. I enjoyed the hell out of 2k16, probably the most I've enjoyed a 2k game since 2k11, but I bet if I came to this board often last year I'd see complaints for "game breaking" issues that I either never acknowledged and never saw as major.

There's been years I check out these boards after the game has released and I almost feel like I'm wrong for enjoying the game. There will be people complaining and saying it's "the worst 2k ever" or that "2k dropped the ball this year" and I'm reading like "I've played this game every chance I've had since I bought it. Am I really that blind and naive for enjoying the game?"

What happened over at the Madden thread? I gave up on Madden years ago because I did not like the way CFM was headed and 2k gave such a better franchise player experience and sandbox.

There is always a day 1 patch.

And in a year like this with an early release following a shortened development cycle, I'm willing to bet that patch is more substantial than it is most years.

Whether that patch will include additional audio content I have no idea.

Sometimes it comes down to lack of time. Spotting a mistake is easy but properly fixing an issue is another story. Sometimes fixing one thing results in an issue elsewhere. Hell even finding the actual problem within the games code and what is causing that issue could be an issue in of itself.

But I also don't work on videogames or doing anything involving modding so I honestly have no idea what's an "easy fix", what's a "difficult fix", or even what type of freedom the team has to try to fix certain issues. Maybe there are areas guys want to fix but they aren't given the option to go in and address certain issues.

When I first seen that crap the first thing I said was "yeah right!!!!" . Listen, last year they claimed to scan players bodies and that was a lie obviously. This is what they do man.
