    Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

We enter our 61st and 62nd games of the season.* And right before the game starts the trainer enters my office. Iman Shumpert is ready to go for the back to back (Jazz then Warriors.)

I adjust my rotations and insert him into the lineups, as he was ON FIRE before he got injured. His contribution will surely help us in the tougher of these games against the GSW.

We cut to the Smart Home Arena. The crowd pumped & ready for basketball. Lakers @ Jazz.

Lakers so far are 31-29 this year, hoping to sneak into the 8th seed, while the Jazz are just hoping that they get a decent draft pick, sitting currently at 21-38.

Last time these two teams met the Jazz took the game 95-78, yet the Lakers are the favorite going into tonight's ball game. We'll see how this one plays out.

The Lakers are currently 1st in PPG, while the Jazz sit at 21st. Another key factor. Rebounding, the Lakers are 2nd in that category.. the Jazz, 28th.

There are no notable injuries for tonight's game for either team.

UTAH JAZZ V LOS ANGELES LAKERS. (SERIES RECORD: 1-1)

The commentators for tonight's action in Utah will be Kevin Harlan, Greg Anthony, and Steve Smith! The tip off goes to the Utah Jazz, and the game begins.
**** The jazz score first with a layup from Hayward, but Dwight Howard immediately answers back with a dunk on the other end. A shooting foul is called here, giving him the and one opportunity.* He bricks the free throw, and the game continues early on, tied up 2-2. Gordan Hayward catches the rebound,* drives down the court and pulls up at the free throw line.. SWISH. Two points,* Utah.

4-2, Utah Leads. "The series is tied 1-1, and the winner here tonight will break that tie, both teams will definitely be giving it their all" Steve Kerr, coach of the Lakers said. "We just have to make sure our all is better than their all".* After a quick turnover from the Lakers, the Jazz score again off a Rudy Gobert Layup. Julius Randle quickly answers back on the other end with a layup of his own, however.

Raul Neto receives the inbound, goes up the court, tries to throw it inside.. steal! Ingram drives down and pulls up for the threee.

Gordan Hayward however immediately answers back with a 3 of his own. Out of the Jazz' 9 points, he has 7. Dloading receives the inbound, then Ingram rolls off a screen he set for Russell, attempts to dunk and is fouled. He drills both free throws. 9-9, tie game.

Rodney Hood receives an open corner three on the Jazz' next possession, 12-9. Khris Middleton decides to take the ball up for the Lakers on the following possession and to the dismay of his teammates,* immediately pull up for his own three. He sinks it luckily, 12-12 with 4:45 left in the 1st. A timeout is called and subs are put in. We will rejoin the game at the top of the second.

It's 25-25 at the top of the second, and the Jazz have possesion. Derrick Favors receives the ball and SLAMS it down for a early two point lead & with the foul, makes it three. The Lakers attempt to answer back,* but Ingram has gone ice cold this quarter. Rudy Gobert however HAS NOT. He spins around Dwight Howard for a jazz Layup. Dwight throws it in to Dloading, who comes up the court and hits randle. He attempts a hook shot. To no avail. Hayward comes back down the court after another rebound, and hits a pull up 3. Rodney Hood steals the ball on the proceeding inbound play, and nails a quick layup as well, 35-25, Jazz. A timeout is called and some starters are rested again. We will catch up with this game as it enters halftime.

Going into halftime, the score sits at 49-38; Jazz on top. The Lakers continue to struggle, especially against this team, and with their current record in the past ten games,* (3-7) they really don't need this.

Gordan Hayward is lighting it up. 14 Points, 3 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 1 Stl.

And for the Lakers, D'Angelo Russell is doing pretty good too. He's got 7 points, 2 assists, and a steal.

The 3rd quarter starts with LAL. DLOADING spots D.Howard open in the paint who, as he goes up, is pushed in the back. He misses, so two shots for him. He makes one and the other is a free throw rim violation. After a quick defensive stop, Ingram hits a jumpshot, but Rodney Hood quickly hits one of his own. Middleton takes the ball up court and pulls up for ANOTHER. I REPEAT. ANOTHER Three. And makes it. Dude is $$. 44-51, Jazz.

Hayward lays up an easy two, and after a quick stop, Hood nails a quick three. A timeout is called. The Lakers are down 44-56 but they put in their "trap card" Iman shumpert.

He takes the ball up the court, calls for a screen from skal. He drives in and slams it down for two. 46-56. A quick stop later, and he throws it into the paint to Dwight Howard for the slam. 48-56.

The jazz come down the court, and raul Neto pulls up. He bricks it. Howard rebounds, then hits Shumpert with the pass who pulls up for 3. 51-56. A quick timeout is called, then the Jazz attempt to have Hayward hit a three, but it's swatted backcourt by Howard! Shumpert grabs it and throws it down. 53-56. Raul Neto brings the ball up the court passes to Derrick favors, then to Gobert, who backs down Skal. Skal falls over as he slams it down. 58-53. Dloading brings the ball up the court and passes to the recently subbed in Quincy Pondextor, who hits Shumpert in the corner for a contested three. And it goes. 58-56. After a turnover by the jazz, Skal Labissiere is sent to the line, and ties it up 58-58. The Jazz give the ball to Hayward who drives down the court, spins past his man and hits a contested layup, and then steals the inbound (T_T)
    63-58

After a three from shumpert, it's 63-61, and he's fouled on his three. 63-62. The game enters the fourth , and The Lakers are finally showing signs of life.

We're a minute into the fourth, and the Jazz have taken a 74-69 lead, and have the ball. They are driving, kick it out to favors who comes into the paint for a layup as the defense was focused on Neto. And a foul on the play will lead to two more shots for the Jazz for Rodney Hood. He sinks both, so the lead increases to 78-69. Dloading takes the ball up court. Stops at the top of the three point line. Surveys his options. Pull up jumper! He nails it. 72-78. Neto catches the inbound, destroys Dloading's ankles and gets an easy layup, and the Lakers come the other way. They kick it to Howard in the paint who is fouled. He makes one, but the other is a clanker.

The jazz fast break up the court, and Neto hits another easy layup around Middleton. Timeout. Ingram is subbed out for Pondextor, as he'd really been struggling to this point.

The Lakers commit a turnover and then foul R.Hood, who sinks both shots. Afterwards, Pondextor hits a quick jumpshot for 2. Gordan Hayward quickly answers back, 86-75, Jazz. Dloading hits back to back unanswered layups, but then D.favors gets back to back layups and a foul on the second. 91-79, Jazz.

DRuss tries to answer back again, but only draws a foul. He sinks both, giving the Lakers a little momentum, which is quickly killed by Gordan Hayward. He drains a three from nearly half court. Dwight Howard does hit a layup on the next possesion, making the score 83-94, but after that, Raul Neto hits three lay ups with no answer to put the game away.

    FINAL SCORE: 98- 83, JAZZ.

    Noteworthy Performances:

    G. Hayward 25 pts, 4 reb, 7 Ast, 2 stl.
    D Favors 19 Pts, 9 Reb, 3 Ast, 3 blocks.
    D. Howard 10 points, 15 Reb, 3 ast.
    B. Ingram 18 points, 4 Reb, 3 ast

Lakers fall to 31-30 with a dangerous divisonal match up ahead.

    Next 5 games:
    Warriors @ Lakers.
    Lakers @ Hawks
    Raptors @ Lakers
    Pistons @ Lakers
    Lakers @ Warriors

I'll be back either in the middle of these games or after all of them with a small recap for each, just thought it'd be fun to detail a game. I'll probably do a week(in game) at a time now.

Also. Small note. I'm thinking of writing from the perspective of the media. What do you guys think?

I relocated my team and in the new arena they're isn't any background music, chants or anything. I set the arena sounds (for fouls, dunks, etc.) But there aren't any other sounds. Did I mess something up or is this common?

I accidentally approved a rule change to allow the best teams to get all the lottery picks and want to revoke that rule because it makes the save unrealistic. How do I revoke the rule?

You're making this same exact post in multiple threads, including 2 posts pretty much saying the same thing in the Bugs and Glitches thread (when this isn't a bug or a glitch). Doesn't help that you're essentially yelling in the posts, with large and bold font.

Just trying to look out for you, with the current forum rules this kind of thing is grounds for a ban.

didnt know bout the new rules. thanks for the heads up. didnt know that increasing the size of my font and having too much punctuations is a bad thing.

anyway, any insights on why a player would have 4 attempts??? despite having o shot tendencies and 0 touches. 2 players had both 0 and both shot 4 attempts each

??????????? or !!!!!!!! <---- is this wrong in threads now?

                      Warriors vs Lakers (31-30)

After a competitive 1st and 2nd quarter, Chef lights it up and finishes with 32 Points, 18 of which from downtown, to beat LAL.

                      ATL v. LAL (31-31)
The game came down to the last few minutes, but it was the performance of Paul Millsap that gave ATL the win. His 23 points lead the way.

                      TOR vs LAL (31-32)
This was never a game. Derozan, who is leading the league in score, led the game in scoring with 24, and Lowry had 22. Biyombo and Valanciunas weren't far behind, with 14 each.

                      DET v. LAL (31-33)
One of the worst teams in the league, Detroit, came to town to face the Lakers and try and steal an easy win, as the Lakers struggle on their 8 game losing streak. However it was not easy. Howard had a triple double (18 pts. 10 Reb, and 10 Ast) but the LAL still fell to the Pistons.

                      GSW v. LAL (31-34)
Chef Curry cooked up some clankers for the crowd in-house tonight, going 7-21 as he and THE GSW fell to the LAL. Ingram had 16 points, 3 reb, and 5 assists.

We finished the season at 41-41 and entered the playoffs in the 8th seed. We face the 1st seed Suns to start.

                      MY GM PLAYOFFS UPDATE #1

                      Lakers(8th seed) v. Suns (1st Seed)

                      Game 1- Lakers 91, Suns 77.
                      Game 2- Suns 95, Lakers 87
                      Game 3- Suns 93. Lakers 79
                      Game 4- Lakers 93, Suns 83
                      Game 5- Suns 104, LAL 95
                      Game 6- LAL 100, Suns 86
                      Game 7- Suns 96, LAL 68

                      Noteworthy performances:
                      E. Bledsoe: 21 pts, 4 Reb. 16 Asts* (GM 6)
                      K. Middleton 22 pts, 5 assts,* 4 steals* (GM 1)
                      D.Booker 22 pts, 6 Reb, 6 Ast (GM 2)
                      J. Murray 24 Pts, 1 reb, 3 ast, 2 stl (GM 7)

The suns advance and face the GSW. Not bad for my first season with the team. I'm disappointed.* But, an eighth seed pushing the 1st seed to 7 games is pretty damn good. I've simmed the rest so..

GSW swept the Suns and met OKC in the WCF. On the other end, BOS met TOR in the ECF.

After a sweep by GSW, and a 7 game series in the ECF, the finals was determined.

                      GSW V. BOS.

Boston also has Durant in mygm.

                      Game 1- GSW 88, BOS 83
                      GAME 2- BOS 85, GSW 75
                      GAME 3- GSW 88, BOS 78
                      GAME 4- BOS 94, GSW 93
                      GAME 5- GSW 88, BOS 80
                      GAME 6- BOS 80. GSW 77
                      GAME 7- GSW 93, BOS 80

                      OFF SEASON UPDATE.

Drafted PF Thomas Bryant with the 23rd pick in the draft. That was my only pick. 2 year, 2.3 mil deal.

Him- Skal- Randle will be competing to be the PF of the Lakers for the future, but as I'll explain below, they'll all be on the bench..

Free agency hits. I resign Georgios papagianians with a QFA. 1 yr, 6.5 mil. Pick up Kay Felder (70 OVR PG) for 2 yr, 3.3 mil and a team option as he has good potential and I see raw talent, and down the line he could easily be a 6th man who gets 20-25 mins once Iguadola is gone and once i figure out where Randle will be or if I'll keep him. I grab seth curry to help develop the bench a bit, 1 year 1.01 mil deal.

I dump Dwight Howards 3 year, 90 mil contract to ATL for a 1 mil contract and cut that player immediately.* I grab Maresse Speights for 1 yr 1.65 mil, him and Georgios will now be competing for the starting spot.
Now I have cap. Time to shake things up. I offer Kyle Lowry a 128.52 Mil dollar deal. He accepts. I also offer Andre Iguadola a 3 year, 41 Mil deal for some vet talent on the bench.* He accepts.

Things are changing here in LA.

So the starting lineup going into next year?
                      PG: Kyle Lowry
                      SG : D'Angelo Russell
                      SF: Khris Middleton
                      PF : Brandon Ingram
                      C: Speights/Georgios.

Goal: Make a deep playoff run, and develop the young talent more and more.

The improvement is instantly noticeable as the team was ranked 22nd last year. This year?* 10th.

                          Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

So just wanted to share my experience so far in MYGM albeit a brief experience so far.
Playing on HOF difficulty with the Utah Jazz on 12 min quarters and absolutely loving it. I will admit I have restarted the gm mode a number of times to get an idea of what settings I would like and I've changed the controller settings slightly and included all contested shots and increased the percent of assisted defence slightly as it was way too difficult without.
So first game went to the Portland Trialblazers and kept it tight. I decided to focus on limiting 3's because Lillard is a beast at these but ultimately he ran the show still and the blazers dominated the rebounds and took home a decent win of 112-102.
Next up was the Lakers and this is a matchup I fancied to win as we are the stronger team on paper. I ran out into a very good 18-4 lead halfway through the first. By the end of the second Lakers had caught up and following a huge third quarter from the Lakers I just couldn't pull it back and Lakers narrowly won the game.
My last game so far was at the Clippers, I decided to play shrink the court settings but at the same time stay tight to cp3. I also had to keep my eye on reddick. This was my best game so far I was in the game the whole way but Clippers edged it in the end.

I'm loving how the cpu plays the game and the indivuality of specific players. lillard plays like Lillard. Griffin plays like Griffin etc. Every game I feel like I'm playing in a real nba match and while it's difficult I'm loving the challenge. And I'm loving how adjusting the defensive settings each game is important. Spurs up next in the first of two in three against them. Going to need to keep Leonard quiet and hope that the stifle tower does a job on Aldridge.

One other thing I'd like to mention is there is a bit of a glitch with the shot meter. So if Im standing on the three point line with derrick favors who is a poor 3 point shooter my shot metre will be small but if I come inside in one movement to hit the shot from the free throw line the metre is still small although this is a shot he is good at so the shot metre should adjust for this I believe but it isn't.

So... After reading a bunch of posts in this thread I got really excited about the prospect of starting a MyLeague with an expansion team. I spent a good amount of time setting everything up, but after a certain point I ended up scrapping the whole thing because of little stuff that piled up and turned me off.

Let me premise this by saying that I prefer realism, so I was trying to recreate the offseason as close to the real thing as possible by using 31 team control.

The first thing that I didn't like is that there's a ton of real coaches and assistant coaches missing from the staff pool. I didn't like the idea of using fictional coaches or hiring a retread coach for a given team. This wasn't a huge issue, but something that was a little annoying.

I tried recreating the draft, but again, it seems that 1/2 of the drafted players were missing from the pool. Once again this annoyed me, but I figured I'll draft fictional players for the teams that selected missing prospects and then I'll just not sign them after the draft.

Finally, what put me over the top is the free agency period. The bird years error is just too much. It was simply impossible to recreate contracts for too many teams. I'm not just talking about LeBron and Durant either, the cap numbers/bird years just seem to be way off. At that point I just backed out of MyLeague and deleted the file.

I guess it's just not possible to recreate a realistic league with an expansion team, which is a complete bummer for someone like myself. It sucks because the whole concept is phenomenal, but there's just too many little things that turn me off. I guess I'll be waiting to 10/25 to start a regular MyLeague with updated rosters, unless someone has any tips to creating a realistic league with an expansion team...

                                Re: **2K17 - How's your MyLeague/MyGM going?**

I updated a while back about my first few games with the Nets. Quick recap:
I traded everyone that didn't really fit my play style or I just didn't care for. The roster we have now is only about 50/50 original Nets from start of season. 22 games into my 29 game season we are 16-6 (I think season 2 I'm probably up the difficulty of played games from All Star to Superstar. Even though a fair share of games we have won have been very close and we could easily be 10-12 if not for a few possessions I still feel like it shouldn't be this easy to take the worst team and get 75% win pct with them.) 6 min quarters adjusted to sim stats of 12 mins.

                                Anyway my starting 5 is

Lin (averaging 9 ppg 9 apg)
                                Crabbe (15 ppg)
                                Bogdanovic (12 ppg 4 rpg)
Jamychal Green (18 ppg 9 rpg)
                                Love (26 ppg 10 rpg)

                                Notable Bench players

                                Kilpatrick (16 ppg)
                                Verajao (6 ppg 8 rpg 2 bpg)
                                N. Collison (9 ppg 4 rpg)
                                Levert (10 ppg)
                                Hollis-Jefferson (Lock down D, 6ppg 4rpg)
                                Vasquez (10 ppg 4 apg)

Overall I've been really surprised with the success I've had with Kilpatrick and Jamychal Green. Green or Love will probably win most improved.

                                Some notes:

Golden State is ridiculous. I'm fairly certain they shot over 75% against us and even though that was probably the best offensive game I've played in 2k we still got trashed. The final score was 97-86 in 6 min quarters. That's completely crazy I think in my history of playing 2k the most I've had scored against me by a CPU was like upper 70s or low 80s.

Somehow we absolutely destroyed the Cavs it was never even close.

Portland is 23-0 and most of their games don't seem to be close. McCollum and Lillard are the frontrunners for MVP, they've become a better version of Curry/Klay somehow...

Overall, loving this game but have to figure out the difficulty I need to play on more than anything
