So in my goal to keep a MyGm going 20+ years, I went back to my Lakers MyGM, and quit from the position, taking over the Grizzlies. We sim to the offseason and the Grizzlies are ****ed cap space and talent wise (some what)

Here's my starting five.

PG: Ty Lawson
SG: A. Afflalo
SF: L. James (happened year 1, still don't get it.)
PF: P. George
C: Marc Gasol


Now there's a big three there. But I have no bench, and no cap. I hate playing that way. I plan to get rid of James as this is his contract year, dump George after this this season, and build around Gasol+ Draft picks.

I'm in the NBA Finals of my yearly 29 game Preseason Fantasy Draft league. Right now it's my Timberwolves (led by Kawhi Leonard, Deandre Jordan, and Serge Ibaka) against the Hawks (led by Steph Curry, Kevin Love, and Andrew Wiggins).

My Timberwolves went 28-1 in the regular season (playing on HOF difficulty) and have gone through Chris Paul's Pelicans, Kevin Durant's Lakers, and LeBron James' Grizzlies to get to the NBA Finals.

I'm gonna be streaming the remaining games if anyone wants to check them out.

Sure. The top link in my signature, the St. Louis MyLeague, is where I'm doing this all, but basically it goes likes this:

I created an expansion team and based it in St. Louis (not premade), did another one and based it in Kansas City (used the premade Knights). I used the "start in offseason" option and redid the 2016 offseason, determining where people went.

Wade stayed in Miami, I had Horford stay in Atlanta, and I did the Rose to Knicks trade, with Noah signing with the Knicks. My squad, the St. Louis Flight, ended up with the 4th overall pick -- we took Thon Maker (big believer in him). The rival Kansas City Knights took Jaylen Brown and hired David Blatt as HC. We hired Kevin McHale.

I signed Delladova and Eric Gordon in free agency (Gordon on a 1-year prove it deal). My starting five in year 1 was Delly, Gordon, Holls Thompson, Thon Maker, and Joffery Lauvergne. Bench was Joe Young, Delon Wright, Jared Dudley, Michael Gbinije, and Jordan Mickey -- I played a deep bench in year 1 to see what worked/didn't.

We ended up finishing 32-50, the Knights finished with the worst record in the league. We had the sixth best odds at getting the 1st overall pick, the Knights had the best odds. They ended up with the 1st overall, but we jumped up and got 2nd overall -- the Knights took Markelle Fultz, PG from Washington. We took Josh Jackson.

In Year 2 my lineup was Delly, Wright, Jackson, Maker, and our big FA signing, Nerlens Noel. Bench was DeMarre Carroll (acquired in a salary dump from Toronto), Lauvergne, Mickey, and Joe Young. We went 46-36, managed to get the 5th seed in the playoffs and took the Pelicans to 7 games in the 1st round -- we lost Jackson to a broken ankle in Game 1, but my team rallied and nearly pulled off the upset.

The Knights finished with a record of 29-53, horrible and that was after signing Paul Millsap (they offered him insane money) in free agency. I'm doing the the 2018 offseason now for all 32 teams and things are looking interesting.

And that's the short version.

Mygm season 2:
As I said before I switched to the Grizzlies in the same save file. I was the Lakers GM before. The Grizzlies are screwed cap space and talent wise (some what)

PF: Paul George
C: Marc Gasol

Note able bench players:
Brice Johnson
Tauren Prince
Jonas Jerebko
Ian mahinmi
Brandon Jennings



Now initially they had Patrick Patterson and some bench players worth the same amount that George's contract alone is. But I had to dump them for George because:

A. The owner said "win now" & gave me the goal of getting a big three.

B. It gives me someone to play as anyway this year, and when I dump LeBron's massive contract, I can rebuild around picks+George+Gasol+Bench.


****** GAME 1/82 POR (1-0) v. MEM (0-0)
No long write up this time, just a few small notes . Defense & rebounding are atrocious. Might have to make some moves to improve those. Any recommendations would be nice. But game 1 and LeBron AND Pg13 goe down with a twisted right ankle. The same injury. And will be out for up to 3 weeks.* Great. So it's all up to Gasol, then?

Noteworthy performances:
CJ Mccollum: 33 pts, 6 reb, 9 ast
P George 16 pts, 8 reb, 7 ast

POR wins 116-102

So game 2, no LeBron or George and we face the Phoenix Suns. (1st seed last year!)

Winner : MEM 102 -87 PHX.

Breaking news: Memphis strikes deal with city of Vancouver to move back after 2018-2019 post season; will once again become known as "Vancouver Grizzlies." Memphis fans not happy.


Game 3 (still no Pg13 or LeBron) v. LAL

Memphis picks up a 95-86 win thanks to a 21 point outing by role player Brandon Jennings.


SCOUTING: Shareef o Neal is making waves in college, his last game he scored 40 points, had 14 assists, and 16 reb. He's the projected #1 ovr pick and many think he will go to the San Diego Surf or Cleveland Cavs.

Championship winner last year: Minnesota Timberwolves, they swept NO.

^Right?! In almost all of my sim forward MyLeagues with default rosters, that happens. Easily 7 out of 10 ... it's hilarious and wrong all the same. Like Durant would choose the Nets; I feel like whomever programmed the Wizards being utterly horrible last year, programmed the Nets getting Durant.

Instead of torturing a fanbase through virtual misery, the guy's torturing the Nets through virtual delusions.

Dang I'm glad I'm not the only who thought the Wizards were horrible last year. Seemed like every year even 20 seasons in they were horrible. Lol

Oh my God, I could hardly do anything to make them qualify higher than a 6th seed -- and that was with a craptastic record. I sent them Brook Lopez, I sent them Marcus Smart, Oubre developed into a 80 overall SF, they had a deep bench and they STILL only managed to get to like, 43 games won.

Someone programmed the Wizards to be horrible last year, I don't know who. But there was no way to get that team to the Finals -- they made it as far as the Conference Finals and that was with a bunch of injuries to the contenders.

I have to say, after this crazy offseason, these moves don't bother me nearly as much as they used to haha

Yeah, this past offseason made 2K look tame in terms of insanity. Can you imagine what would have happened if Billy King had a job? There would have been a trade or signing (or both) that set back a franchise like, six years, and devastated a generation of fans. It would have been a Nets disaster x 10 with the amount of money floating about.

"With Paul George & LeBron back and* healthy, the second game in this series should be a barn burner" said Greg Popovich, coach of the Grizzlies. When asked about his thoughts on next year's relocation, he simply said "Im neither owner, nor GM. Im just the coach."


Memphis drops to 2-5 after a 20 point loss to portland. LeBron finishes with just 9, teammates seem* disgruntled. PG leads the team with 22, Gasol with 16. Many believe the relocation is* the source of the issues.

"It's not on my mind. This losing streak, the relocation, our lack of efficiency as a team, and my goals for MVP and our organization. But facing my old team? No. Not on my mind. It's just another game. Inevitable." Paul George said when asked about his 1st appearance in Bankers life field house since joining the Grizzlies.

"I'll be thinking about it before him" friend and teammate LeBron James joked. "But we need to step it. Especially me. I've only played two games this year, both against Portland, and had only 9 in each. That's not me." Many believe LBJ to just be aging, however. He is 33 now, so it could be a sign of the times for him. We'll see after the game.


At halftime Memphis held a 10 Point 49-39 lead, showing vastly improved defense and rebounding.* LBJ has 16 points, and 5 rebounds. And for the Pacers, Myles Turner has 10 points.

FINAL SCORE : Mem 105 , Pacers 97.

Memphis improves to 3-5, but PG13 suffers a second injury. Video coverage of that will follow this paragraph, but many are starting to wonder if not only can this team gel and succeed as hoped, but can they stay healthy?

Paul George will be out 4-6 weeks with a severe left ankle sprain.

The immediate two games after this injury, are blowouts. The lack of these four things:
-A good bench
-defense
-good rebounding
-PG13

Are killing the Grizzlies, and LeBron and Gasol can only do so much. They get beat by the heat 91-82, then destroyed by the Celts 84-59. LeBron manages to score 17 in both games, and Gasol seems absent in both losses.

Memphis fall to 3-7

Game of the week:
LAC v. GSW

Los Angeles was the DEFINITE underdog in this match up and stunned everyone with a 110-84 blow out. C.Paul had 31 points, 8 ast, and 5 steals. Blake griffin had 27 points, and Chef Curry tried to cook up a response, but was the only one in the kitchen it seemed like.

Los Angeles just put itself on the map as a real threat this year.

Hey guys! In the official 2k Roster Simmons has an A+ potential and Embiid A-. When I start MyGM with the sixers and choosing the latest official roster Simmons only has B+ Potential and Embiid A, when I look at the roster after the introduction through the team owner.

How do I get the official roster or official potentials into MyGM? I would love to make the rebuild now with the sixers and an A+ Simmons would be sweet
