For those saying stuff like that, I'm mostly talking about MyCareer. I have no control over what my AI bigs do. I'm on the Pelicans for instance and I swear Anthony Davis nearly fouls out of every game. It's starting to tick me off. The game already takes the control away from me with all its cutscences and time out cheese. Now, I'm sitting here watching free throws every ten seconds.

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
My very early impressions (haven't played an NBA 2k game since 2k12):
- Animations do look a lot better, I appreciate the feeling of not being trapped in some lengthy canned mo-cap animation. Although, players feel a bit "light" to me.
- I have saw a lot of great (and very real looking) animations in the post. I play with the Kings so feeding the ball all game long to Boogey.
- Rebounding feels good, especially rewarding on the offensive side with the new put backs.
- Defense is a problem in this game for more than one reason: Perimeter D is totally broken, even with impossible better pressure shots will go in for the user and the CPU. The movable screen that pulls you all the way from the perimeter to the paint is really annoying when you are playing against a good scoring team. There is a delay when you switch defenders that will give the offensive player enough space to take a shot. Almost all backdoor cuts will result in someone getting wide open.
- I like the concept of the Shot Stick but it have to be direction relative, it just not make any sense the way it is right now.
- The button layout, especially calling plays is a big mess. I love how deep this game have become but they really need to sit and think how to simplify this part.
- A lot of people already mentioned the subs menu issues...so there is that.
- Graphics wise this game didn't impressed me at all...well...players faces looks good. Everything else, I think all the other major sports videogame out there do a better job in this department.
- Presentation is solid as always as far as I remember.
- Audio, they just hyped the whole thing too much for they own good. Dynamic Commentary is a good concept but the execution falls short. I would prefer a Madden approach here and just keep updating the commentary thru the season. I have not yet noticed the arena specific sounds, chants, etc.
- The menus in my gm...just going to say that is going to take some time to get used to.
- This game has a fair amount of little visual and gameplay glitches all over, is not something I expect of NBA 2k games.
If I had to rate this game right now I will not give it more than a 7 out of 10, but in this new era of patches it can be higher.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
Well, I tried it and it really doesn't work like it used to I guess.
It'll sometimes go into an animation where your guy puts a hand or two up, but not always.
Last year, you had total control. Press the right stick up, hands go up. Release it, hands go down. Quick flick stick back up, hands back up.
It isn't like that this year, and it' kind of sucks.Comment

NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
The defense off the ball and in transition took a step back in 2K17. Way too many times a big man loses his man or wanders out of bounds somewhere only to see J. Noah or Boogie Cousins get his 8th layup of the game because no one is guarding him. And no, we shouldn't have to use a big man on defense every trip down the floor.
They certainly made some nice improvements this year and they've made it a deeper game with animations and to a certain degree, strategy, but on the defensive end of the floor was not really one of them. They did do a better job with steals and blocks and how the hand has more physical interaction with the basketball and you can't pass or shoot straight through virtual humans.

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
I have thought about this a lot. I don't think the devs have been the same from year to year to year. I think guys like Mike Wang are just really PR guy's posing as devs, and not the real devs. Devs are artist, but in a program form. And like an artist, they have their signature styles. This game changes to much for it to have been the same guy(wang). I don't see how u go from something great to something near trash status. This is not the work of the same dev IMO.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
Pros: Best nba 2k in terms of gameplay
smooth as butter and I haven't noticed any frame drops
Lightning has been better than ever
Cons:
- someone's getting injured every game and fg percentage is way too high
- skinny players stand out like a sore thumb
- headband has a hole in the forehead(annoying glitch from 2k14 is back)Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
U can't believe everything these companies tell u man. Just like how they claimed to have did body scans last year, and how they claimed to do all this traveling for authentic arena sounds this year. Or how all these fake gamers was on you tube hyping up the game prior to release, but they really where 2k pawns being told what to say; straight acting with the fake slang and all. Wang could be a dev, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was just their PR guy and they hired new dev's every so often. The game just don't look like the work of the same dev IMO.Comment
