It's only the first quarter and he's had some crazy possessions where he's getting multiple put backs on his own missed shots. He just totally shook me out of my shoes in the post with a four or five head fake shimmy and I totally jumped (with Festus Ezeli) the wrong way and Cousins buried the open footer.

Damian Lillard also feels great, the space you can generate at the top of the key with his patented in-and-out hesitation dribble and the defenses respect of the drive is crazy.
what do u mean when u say superstar difficulty and everything is default? isnt difficulty and sliders only one now???

As others have mention, your teams transition D is pretty bad. Giving up a lot of easy baskets...either underneath or wide open 3's. CPU AI isn't too smart in that department.

So, is it just me or are fouls completely out of control in this game? My bigs are getting WAY too many hacks called against them. I swear mine or the other team is in the penalty every quarter.

Just the opposite for me. I can not get used to shoot absolute while dribbling relative, my brain can not make the switch quick enough after so many years of shooting with the stick relative to the camera (somehow simulating the arms movement with the RS), it does not feel natural to me, besides we have the post fadeaways (out of the paint) which are wrong by definition as, to execute them, you have to point with the stick to a different direction to the aim (unless you luckily are in the proper angle) and still getting a penalisation.

Along with the slow/sluggish playbook execution is the only part of the game I am not loving so far. This NBA 2k17 is a 8.5 for me (it would be a 9.5 without those 2 issues)...

              Cheers! ;-)

The scoreboard is pretty bad. Preferred last year's one.

Also, anyone noticing lots of injuries in gameplay? Maybe it's just coincidence, but in the three 12 min qtr games i've played the opposing team's star player has gotten injured every time. Against the Twolves Towns got injured, against the Clippers Paul got injured, and against the Warriors Klay got injured. There were other injuries in the game too, can't remember who exactly though

Edit: And then 20 seconds after i posted this my best player Shaun Livingston (it's an expansion team) got injured and had to be helped off court in the 4th game of the season. Spooky

I love it. People played way to aggressively in 2k16. Now the "sprint into offensive player to stop their movement" defence almost always results in a blocking foul. This allows offense to look more like it does in real life, where sometimes you have to let a guy go and have a rotation player cover him. Also, undercutting players by running into them while they shoot and constant steal spamming.

Very rarely got into the penalty in 16 unless I was using a lineup that had a slasher that could draw fouls in the paint, regardless of how aggressive defenders were.

Hesitant to say this game is amazing gameplay wise. Last year around this time the game was also balanced, with offensive players missing contested layups, and the overall need to run plays to get open looks.

Even with how great the defense is, and the nerfing of the turbo mode offense from Play Now Online from 2k16, there is still the possibility that things will change and make the online more arcadey.

                      Re: NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread

I'm not trying to be a jerk but this has been one of my worst video game experiences ever. The sad part is actual game play is fantastic but any of the cool things that I really want to do are flat out broken.

                      1. Face scan hasn't worked properly at all. In the prelude I had to redo my face scan 10 times because I kept getting "there was an issue with your scan" error that apparently is common on Xbox 1. Every time I had to reinstall the app or it wouldn't recognize my phones camera. Then I got it working and got the early release game and my player when it transferred over had a blacked out face. I then had to redo my face scan and got errors again.

                      2. Starting an expansion my gm has been an absolute train wreck. I added Vancouver and Montreal and downloaded Seattle. Kept getting can't save arena errors and then it finally started working once I changed to cloud saves. Spent about 2 hours making unis and editing everything. Get into the off season and work my way through everything after another hour then it turns out my Vancouver team now has a mix of Vancouver and Seattle elements in the Jerseys. I sim up to where I can play a game to test what's going on and the arena is a mix of all three expansion teams. It had supersonics mid court logo with Montreal secondary logo and Vancouver baseline text and a mix of colors. No choice but lose the hours and start again basically same thing happens.

I mean I guess the game play is so good that maybe I need to just give up and accept I can't do what I want and just do a regular my gm but man I am frustrated and disappointed because on paper the things advertised are amazing.

So many good things about gameplay and i can't even find ways to put how good they really are. IT'S SO GOOD!

For the ones that are saying 'way too many fouls' it's a game of basketball and 2K17 is still lacking about foul calls yet you say too many fouls on bigs, please try not pushing any button and try to get good positions for your bigs w/o touching any buttons but just bodies and then see if it's better or not.

Sometimes neutral control is better than everything and basketball is a game of positions.

It's tough to play D under the hoop without fouling.

I have no idea why they took out the ability to put your hands straight up. Makes zero sense.

Someone mentioned it wasnt possible to sub during timeout (to confirm the sub) and I thought he was crazy but I realized it doesnt work here either. When I sub during "be a coach" it will wait for NEXT dead ball.

But when I call a time out, quickly go to main menu and sub there, I will get the subs confirmed after the TO is over. Is it supposed to be this way?

Defense is non existent. Impossible to stay in front of your man with how terrible the players slide laterally... its pathetic... people are saying fluid gameplay? NOT EVEN CLOSE to fluid... it's all over the place...no control at all.

Over hyped 2k yet again. Same ole bad game. Thank god fifa comes out next week.

Still in the game, and exactly what you should use to defend under the rim because I agree its tough to defend under there without fouling.

RS up = hands straight up
