Re: NBA 2K17 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
Is there a website I can use while I'm setting up my defensive settings to see which players are good in what areas? The superstars are obvious, but there's no way to tell if, for instance, C.J Miles is a knock down 3 pt shooter, so therefore I'd want to go over his screens instead of under. Basically, I'm left to essentially "guess" based on their overall rating which has proved disastrous in the past.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
Anyone have any tips for dealing with the CPU scoring inside, especially with bigs? My defensive settings are often focused on locking down perimeter shooters, playing tight - that mostly works great but when they throw the ball inside to a decent center I give up a lot of cheap baskets.
I generally play either moderate or tight to the opposition center, 3/4 bottom post settings, playing with the Bucks so not incredible defensive options inside. Drummond in particular rips me up.Comment

Any tips for on-ball defense in general? Also, any tips for defending sharpshooters (Pro-Am) who run around more screens than Rip Hamilton and zig-zagging speed boosters? I'm not new to the series but I'm always looking to improve. Defense is underpowered this year.

Also, I don't recommend 3/4's Bottom in the post, esp. against better big men. 3/4 bottom essentially gives them the middle of the floor, I'd much rather go 3/4 top and give them the space between them and the baseline and honestly, I've found that to be a more effective method defending dominant post players. I know Sam Pham swears by the 3/4 bottom philosophy, but give it a try and let me know how it works out for you.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
use your quickness and speed to get to a spot you feel comfortable iso-ing from, then use a space creating move ie lateral dribble moves (lateral stepback, cross, between the legs, or hesitation)
then go into your actual standing dribble moves only using turbo to hard launch, then quickly releasing

Re: NBA 2K17 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
i would advise to not use turbo constantly. managing your speed with stop and go dribble moves is the best isolation tactic IMO.

Re: NBA 2K17 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
i dont know if anyone can help me out with this, but I am having the hardest time trying to ankle break opponents, I just cannot seem to do it at all. i watch videos/etc and it looks easy for some people, like one of the 2ktv top 4 plays even showed one where the guy ankle broke the opponent 2 or 3 times in a row in 1 dribble motion.Toronto Blue Jays

thank use left stick to select drummond - then select "boxes and elbows" this will put men on the boxes, elbows of the lane and crowd him.
good luck!!!Comment
