Is there a website I can use while I'm setting up my defensive settings to see which players are good in what areas? The superstars are obvious, but there's no way to tell if, for instance, C.J Miles is a knock down 3 pt shooter, so therefore I'd want to go over his screens instead of under. Basically, I'm left to essentially "guess" based on their overall rating which has proved disastrous in the past.

I have the same problem sometimes. If you wanna go tryhard you can look up each player's attributes in the scoresheet screen (pressing the right stick when you have highlighted the player you want) but that usually takes up a lot of time. Always thought it would be useful to see at least the offensve grades of each opposing player in the defensive settings screen. Hoping for 2K18...

Anyone have any tips for dealing with the CPU scoring inside, especially with bigs? My defensive settings are often focused on locking down perimeter shooters, playing tight - that mostly works great but when they throw the ball inside to a decent center I give up a lot of cheap baskets.

I generally play either moderate or tight to the opposition center, 3/4 bottom post settings, playing with the Bucks so not incredible defensive options inside. Drummond in particular rips me up.

Any tips for on-ball defense in general? Also, any tips for defending sharpshooters (Pro-Am) who run around more screens than Rip Hamilton and zig-zagging speed boosters? I'm not new to the series but I'm always looking to improve. Defense is underpowered this year.

            Thanks in advance.

I use the Bucks too, so I can feel your pain here. But really this is all about in-game adjustments. Concentrating on perimeter shooting is fine, but when they start pounding it down low to Drummond, you're going to want to adjust defensively to that. For all of it's faults, the CPU will get hip to your defensive scheme quick if you don't change it up, so if you're set to "no three's" and they start posting up, I would change it to "shrink the floor" for a while and make them start taking more jumpers. And if he's really kicking your ***, you can go to the defensive settings for Drummond and set the "double team post" to "dig" and the guards/wings will swipe at the ball when he has it on the blocks. I'd never call for a double team, though, too many rotation headaches ...

Also, I don't recommend 3/4's Bottom in the post, esp. against better big men. 3/4 bottom essentially gives them the middle of the floor, I'd much rather go 3/4 top and give them the space between them and the baseline and honestly, I've found that to be a more effective method defending dominant post players. I know Sam Pham swears by the 3/4 bottom philosophy, but give it a try and let me know how it works out for you.

i would advise to not use turbo constantly. managing your speed with stop and go dribble moves is the best isolation tactic IMO.

use your quickness and speed to get to a spot you feel comfortable iso-ing from, then use a space creating move ie lateral dribble moves (lateral stepback, cross, between the legs, or hesitation)

then go into your actual standing dribble moves only using turbo to hard launch, then quickly releasing

Thanks man, I'll check these out I've improved a little with my iso dribbling. I just feel like I get the space to beat them so I try and turbo passed them and I move so slow. I'll check that video tonight.

i dont know if anyone can help me out with this, but I am having the hardest time trying to ankle break opponents, I just cannot seem to do it at all. i watch videos/etc and it looks easy for some people, like one of the 2ktv top 4 plays even showed one where the guy ankle broke the opponent 2 or 3 times in a row in 1 dribble motion.

yes so call timeout and go to defense. then hit "adjustments" (x on PS4). pick play physical and shrink the floor.

thank use left stick to select drummond - then select "boxes and elbows" this will put men on the boxes, elbows of the lane and crowd him.

                                good luck!!!
