Re: What Difficulty Level Are You On?

Was playing MyCareer yesterday and wasn't happy with the superstar difficulty either but then thought it had more to do with there being no "game style" option in MyCareer (default, simulation or casual), so I thought I'd go into the main settings to see what the game style sliders looked like...

To my surprise "default, simulation and casual" are gone and it now looks like slider are set only to the difficulty chosen...So instead of just giving the CPU a big ratings boost (like previous years) the sliders (for the CPU) are also juiced.

I was playing all yesterday thinking "why are there so many And1's?"...Having the slider for shooting fouls at 80!!!! for the CPU along with a big ratings boost will do that.

Hate that they took out the "game style" options, I'll probably stop playing one of my favourite modes just because of this, whats that saying? If it ain't broke...

If playing on a high difficulty I advise experimenting with some custom sliders...If the mode you're on supports it.

CPU VS CPU HOF difficulty. Are we supposed to just accept this? If we want the full benefits of ACE, we have to deal with shooting percentages in the 80s?

44 points in the FIRST QUARTER

I can't believe people are okay with the OP shooting by the AI.

Don't care for my career experience since I just use that to get badges and vc.

What I do care about is playing play now for quick games and having the cpu go to close to 55% shooting. I play good D but for some reason my teammates would leave that one guy open who will shoot lights out most of the time.

Kills my experience like Gosen. This has been an issue on every 2k I've played and I hate messing with sliders lol. I dunno man....

I do call timeouts but then the cpu will just find a cheap way to score. Gives me a headache lol.

Putting everything at 50 for user vs cpu? I've never been so frustrated with a 2K game before. Every single game I've played or watched, the cpu scores over 120 points each time.

I think they organized the game similar to Madden where we have sliders to create artificial boosts or handicaps and the difficulty level affects playcalling...

I'm watching this pacers vs knicks game right now. Score is 68 - 68 with 6 minutes left in the 2nd quarter.

Both teams are shooting 78%... 78% through 2 and a half quarters.

Czar hyped higher difficulty levels this year like there would be no more BS and things would be more realistic. Clearly, this is not the case. The AI simply does not miss.

Hall of fame user set applied to user and CPU. Now i'm going to try a CPU vs CPU game...but i'm pretty sure the user on hall of fame has the best defaul set...

All I want is a grind it out, defensive game like we saw the Cavs create in the Finals the past two years by shutting the Golden State offense down. I can't recreate that. I just played a game on All Star default and my Cavs shot 60% and scored 64 in a half by playing very smart... But no matter what adjustments I made, I couldn't slow the Warriors who scored 78 and shot 70% and 50% from three (13/27).

Seems to be the norm. I honestly don't know how people are winning games on anything above All Star this year, really blows my mind.

Defensive games seem to be a thing of the past. This game is all offense offense offense all the time.

                        2k18 fixes

Bigs can cover to much ground on defense(they are too fast)

Late contest on laups matter too much.

                        Random blocks doing pumpfakes.

Leaning shots for guys who have catch and shoot badge should be removed.

I've tried that. Both teams still shoot between 55-60%. Contested shots, AND-1's, deep contested 3's are all just swishing like there's no one else on the court.

I understand NBA players are great shooters, but they do miss shots sometimes. Even wide open shots. I have never had this problem in a 2K game before where the AI just sinks EVERYTHING. I can't remember a 2K where the field goal percentages were so high.

I'm seriously flabbergasted at what's going on this year.

I'm still rolling with all star default. The game is definitely easier, which I like. But I'm now getting a good challenge. Especially from the good teams. I haven't been able to beat the Warriors or Cavs or Celtics for some reason. I can hang with them and feel I have a shot. Not cheated. That's all I really want. so far so good. I don't have any glaring gameplay issues at this point.

Honestly i can't understand...difficulty levels and balance are essential for a sports videogame (did they test the game enough?). It seems they built NBA2k17 around competitive gaming and sam-pham-type of players.

I will never be that kind of gamer, personally, i love ACE, ratings and real percentages...
