There is no true difficult this year. It's all based on sliders and ACE which is tied into the OA and DA sliders. You have set difficulty sliders. They give the cpu slider boost higher or lower depending what set difficulty you're playing on. I'm playing on the default simulation sliders that was in 2k16 ( i downloaded them). So i guess the difficulty i'm playing on is simulation.

So the computer gets boosts to their sliders, and they're smarter than ever on superstar and HOF? Why not just leave the ACE at max and give us even sliders for CPU and user?

You're already making the computer smart by unlocking all levels of ACE on higher difficulty, why do they also need a boost to their sliders? It makes no sense to me.

This is why we're seeing the AI sink everything they put up. But even when adjusting sliders, it seems to have minimal affect. I really wish we could get a chime in from Czar or one of the devs to shed light on all of this.

Yeah i know. Those are the default set difficulties. They are all based on sliders. last year that wasn't the case. They hid the boost that the CPU got within the game code. This year you can visibly see the boost that the cpu is getting in shooting, offense awareness, and defense awareness.

That's Why i call it set difficultly because it goes to custom as soon as you start adjusting sliders. My bad though. I should have explained that better. Cpu adjustments are mostly tied to that offensive and defense awareness slider, i'm about 80 percent sure ( too early to know for sure 100 percent). The reason i feel this way is because the difficult goes to custom when you start playing with the sliders, Which leads me to believe that the game bases it's levels solely on the sliders.

Czar said thats where they wanted to get eventually, but ACE wasn't quite strong enough on it's own yet, but I completely agree.

I have my shooting sliders at 50 for both user & CPU as a starting base and getting decent results. But I hate not knowing if CPU is using everything OG and Czar have in there.

So I finally beat the CPU on hall of fame (Warriors vs Thunder).

Here's a screenshot. 12 minute quarters.

But I can definitely see from my other games that the field goal percentage and 3 pointers are a bit on the higher side.

This game I managed to hold them at 45% field goal and 32% 3 point shot.

I had to keep watch on everything during defense, not just the ball handler. I had to icon select my off ball defenders and fight around screens at moments when I suspect the CPU could be running off ball screens to get their shooters open. I had to keep close on their shooters and contest their shots.

I was down in the final moments of the 4th but pulled it out.

4th quarter, 2:10 remaining: GS 97 OKC 103
4th quarter, 1:11 remaining: GS 101 OKC 105
Victor Oladipo had a chance to win it with 6 seconds left, but missed a three pointer. GS 108 OKC 107. Green grabs the rebound, gets foul and knocks down two clutch free throws.


12 minute quarters.
End of 3rd quarter: Warriors 76 Thunder 76

Yes, this and ACE. They just made the boosts visible this year so we know why we're getting beat up!

Haha yeah man and it doesn't upset me now that i know why the cpu is whooping on me. I did even out the sliders for user and cpu though. plays much better that way. I'm also getting different types of games. Bad shooting nights 30-38%. hot 47-50+, decent 39-46%. And it really depends on the team you're playing with and playing against. Had a super slow grind it out game vs the grizz with new York. In the end though, Melo couldn't be stopped. I put up 34 with him. shot a good 3rd period that pulled us away. Game is great though.

So can we put it on superstar or hall of fame and even out the sliders while still getting the full benefits of the ACE and all the work put in without the CPU boosts?

The ai got Rondo making a contested 3 and clutch free throws to send game into overtime. This ai something else.

Im on All Star, which is the same as last yr, and Im getting my rear end kick just as last yr on AS,lol.
I have tinkered with the sliders but not too much yet, other than just raising foul sliders for LBF, OTB and Charging, and I have them all at 100.

I know some people arent liking not having a sim slider setting, but lets be honest how many actually played without tweaking them to your liking anyway. I think as time goes on people will get use to it, sometimes change isnt easy

I actually like seeing the boost that the CPU gets on higher levels, and the boost you get on lower levels. To me thats better than not seeing it with it being under the hood in the past.

Once we establish this, we can agree on a set....because I dont think anyone wants to miss out on the goodies ACE brings to the table...

Exactly! 54 for shooting sliders is absurd, but I'm scared to adjust any sliders. I feel that we should be able to use custom sliders with any difficulty setting.
